130$ for 10 bags of wood vs 200-250$ for a chainsaw, plus gas, plus your time, plus maintenance. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Long term it'd be worth it I guess, 2 year payback basically if you burn 10 bags a year and have space to store the wood.

You can get a lot more than 10 bags of wood in one go with a wood permit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Camping you are burning 1-2 bags a day probably. It’s pretty easy to go through a ton of wood if you have fires regularly.

If you enjoy spending a full day and have room to store it. Cutting your own makes sense. But if storage is a problem, or you don't have a free day, the bags are an okay deal and excellent convenience.

If you had a back yard firepit then its a no brainer. But if its 2-3 camping trips a year ... not sure it'd be worth it mostly just from a time aspect. Would be most a day to go drive out, cut, fill the truck, stack at home, etc to save the 130$ to buy it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Construction cutoffs into our backyard firepit - pine, spruce, oak, maple. Also hardwood from our own and neighbor's yards, lilac, apple, mountain ash and even sometimes birch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 is a construction project that will upgrade 4.8 km of Highway 1 east of Golden, B.C. We’ll provide some more info on the project further down, but first, here's the important stuff:
• Work on the Highway will start in fall 2020
• There will be NO stoppages, delays or closures related to this project in summer 2020
• There will be NO daytime stoppages, delays or closures in summer 2021, 2022 or 2023 either
• It is from May 15th - September 15th that there will be no daytime stoppages or closures. They know TransCanada Highway 1 is far too busy to have delays during this time.
• Any required closures will occur in the middle of the night, or in the off seasons (early spring and late fall)
