They can hang out with me, I'll be at chinook from tonight to Thursday. Site C74, drop by and you can yell at my kids and drink a cheap beer.

Kettle River Provincial campground. Lots of stuff for the kids to do here. There’s a bike course, bike paths, playgrounds, float down the river that meanders through the campground. Mosquitos are fuckin brutal though

I used to camp at chinook all the time, Made a terrible decision once of driving down that hill with my trailer and a Tacoma pulling, going back up with how washboarded the road had become was less than desirable. I swam across that lake once in my twenties as well which was next level stupid.

Enjoy the trip man! I am not heading out for a few weeks for the first trip of the year.

First family camping trip was a success. Bow Valley is awesome, so many things to do around there! got to meet nzwasp as well.

Next up is Crimson Lake. Question for those that have been - is there a lot to do within walking distance of the campsites? For Bow Valley my wife drove our SUV in addition to the RV we rented which was super convenient when venturing out, but since Crimson is farther I’d prefer just jamming everyone in the RV and not having our vehicle following. Easy to have a fun 4 day trip here without venturing out?

You will be able to walk to the beach at the lake from the campground. There’s also a hike around the lake I think it’s about 1.5-2 hours. Unsure what else there is to do around there aside from the national historic site but that’s prob a 15 min drive.

How are the mosquitoes at the camp sites? Is it bad, ok, bearable this year?

I’m part of the exclusive blue plate premium price club. Not many red plates around, which means way more site openings haha.

I went 2 to 3 to skip the oil. Heavy headwind on 3, hah, and my fuel economy dropped ridiculously. I needed fuel by Blairmore. Beee-fuckin-rutal.

This is a little more last minute. I'm going to be calling Mount Kidd to cancel a reservation here in the next hour or so. Unfortunately, their RV only policy hasn't changed due to covid.

Site E-18, Power and water. Two nights, July 3-5.
