There is strong evidence that TWA800 was brought down by a missile that did NOT detonate.

One obvious clue was RDX all over the ship, but no high speed associated spalling of parts caused by detonation. Another was some caved IN parts of the ship around the centre fuel tank

The rocket simply ignited the fuel/vapour mix (low speed detonation/deflagration).

The other was dozens of CREDIBLE witnesses (military, pilots, professionals) who stated they saw an object heading towards the aircraft, as seen from multiple angles.

Also, the NTSB even admitted that a non-detonated missile into the centre tank would have created this exact scenario, but 'more testing was required'.

Are you sure about that? I think you’ve got it the other way around. There was very little evidence associated with an explosive ordnance induced event, and the RDX was trace and likely linked to the frames prior use ferrying military personnel. The information gathered from these credible witnesses was also analyzed and most were found to be consistent with the actual flight path of the aircraft, both pre and post breakup, and the other statements found to be either lacking credibility or based on the timing, direction, sound, light from a missile motor and the associated vapor trail of said missile tracking its target, found to be impossible. It was likely fuel tank hardware associated wiring, and the testing they did after the fact confirms this as the most credible theory.

As far as this one goes, I’m more behind the idea of a systems malfunction in shooting down a civilian aircraft squawking as such and still being shot down, or an operator error in doing the same, or onboard contraband. The flight data from ADS-B and the flight profile suggest an immediately catastrophic event that crippled the aircraft, but those don’t generally happen from system/mechanical failures.

Claims that it's in the area of the crash take away from the claim. Ballistics say it would be a long way away from the crash but...

At any rate, we'll likely never know the truth - even if it was a complete accident, the fact that it happened in that airspace will always have questions around it.

I don't see any outcome here other than it being declared a mechanical failure by Iran or it starting a war. There is no way I can see Iran admitting to it after the fact, regardless of what the investigation shows.

It is a sad day for Canada regardless. Several Canadian researches and a Dr. have been confirmed to have been killed in the crash.
