I dont follow what goes on in mainstream media so I went to the bastion of (liberal) intelligence that is wiki, to find out what has been going in the gulf area.
Basically, the Iranians have been (indirectly or directly) attacking ships and American assets since May of 2019. Low level conflict, from mostly Iranian assets towards the Americans.
Now, the ENTIRE backstory is much longer (decades long) and implicates the Saudis and the Americans in many areas.
But no, I dont see a serious war happening. The Americans are finally showing a little pushback.
