That's legit a huge target. They took out a major shot-caller (Suleimani) and a bunch of Hezbollah dudes in the same car. No clue what the response from Iran will look like, but that's one hell of a statement from the US after the Embassy attack.
The way I read it....
Time for AB energy industry to make a comeback.
Wonder how the market will react tomorrow.
Worley stock (in Australia) suddenly up 2.22% and I'd bet that's why since they're EPC tied to energy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My Iranian friend describes this guy as "second most powerful... only behind Supreme Leader".
Holy fuck - I think the world is about to change.

From CNBC
Prices surged as high as 4%, before paring those gains. As of 11.01 a.m. during Asia time, Brent crude was up 2.88% to $68.14 per barrel, while U.S. crude rose 2.70% to $62.82 per barrel.
Perhaps sort of... But that's more based on formal rank. This guy was actually holding power without necessarily the formal clout of "2iC" ranking to the Supreme Leader. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

This might make 'rocket man' think twice about pissing off turnip man.
So, lesson be learned. If you have any oil, make sure to buy bulletproof everything.

There was already some "risk premium" baked into world oil prices. Looks to me like it's basically $2 added to brent price.

Trump is all about being shone in high quality light. I can see the point, technically LED tend to flicker, but usually have a full bridge rectifier - so its almost always 120 hz or higher. The old style bulbs don't exhibit flicker because they are so energy wasting that they don't have a chance to get to a "dim" mode.
The biggest reason though, is that the USA produces more energy wasting bulbs, and has the patent on it. LED tend to be made by China.
Thing is: If you run LED off of something like a USB portable battery bank (DC) or a localize solar panel you actually can get exceptional light that does not flicker at all. There may come a day where you have an outlet to your HDTV that is a DC outlet that is direct driven by a solar panel/battery just to give higher quality images than what you are forced to endure with AC. But not the USA, they will keep AC power, incandescent light bulbs, and the combustion engine for as long as they can squeeze money out of it.
That being said: Fridge, Stove, Dryer, Dishwasher = all ok on AC. Anything you "look at" like a HDTV, or listen to like a HQ audio system you want to run off DC for maximum visual and audio quality. Will it ever happen in my lifetime? Again, probably not.
Just to keep it all on topic. I'm impressed that Trump has taken a personal stance on the quality of light in the USA, although he may be slightly uninformed as to the path forward.
Killing people over oil is old news, its predictable and boring to me.
