Geez, after reading a few posting their increases, now I don't feel so bad about my tax bill. Wow, what's up with Calgary?

He raised taxes every year without fail during his entire term. Faster than the rate of inflation no less. In 9 years, my taxes have risen $3000 per year, yet my assed value has not changed. Literally the same as the day I moved in.
Maybe the city should look at some austerity measures.

Not a penny to be saved in running this city.

I have no interest in reality. Sounds boring.

taxes up 5% on the primary. Assuming the rental will be about the same.

Is it really impossible for the city to spend less money?
Reworking the same roads 3x a year, increase public sector salaries, increase in unemployment... oh dont forget those expensive art pieces

I wonder how much this will push more places for sale. Between insurance premiums and tax hikes I gotta imagine there's a bunch of rentals that'll be underwater now.
I can't see it TBH. If you have an average $400K house and an extra $30 a month in taxes and $30 a month in insurance are enough to push you out of the house then you had no business being there in the first place.

But then we would lose the title of the best city to live in, in the ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE!

I wonder if he sold his Aspen house to move to a more exclusive part of Aspen to get away from the stinky nouveau riche kids moving into his block.

I think if I had to pay my whole property tax bill all at once I would go postal.

2% filing fee for TIPP is waived this year. I am buying a new toaster if I get approved.
