Talladega Superspeedway for NASCAR - any tips?

Those fans aren't diverse enough. NASCAR clearly has a problem.

Tips depends greatly on what you are trying to get out of it. In terms of "seeing the race" you are best to just buy the higher up grandstand tickets and forget about pit-side stuff because you can't see shit from there. If you are there all weekend hang out in the pits on saturday maybe. For the complete talladega experience, what you want to do is camp right there and enjoy the evening festivities for the few days before. Shit like gravy wrestling, the concerts etc. It's supposed to be basically daytona spring break for renecks, totally wild, I did not partake.

Talladega does have the very civilized rule that you can bring in a soft-sided cooler full of whatever you want, so I brought in 24 beers and a water. You couldn't do that in Vegas or Pheonix when I attended there.

Overall, I don't give a shit about nascar racing, but I enjoy the spectacle
