Default HAXXORZ!!! How hard to open a password protected MS Excel spreadsheet?

Want to unlock editing on an MS Excel worksheet. Was created by someone who is no longer with the company. How hard is this to do?

You'll need to track down some shady ass tools to unlock them. Have you tried obvious passwords?

Just copy all the data and start a new sheet?

If there are any macros or thing setup you can't get access to them.

At work so I don't really wanna click on any of these links but lots show up with a quick google search.

    https://www.iseepassword.com/crack-m...-password.html

    http://www.excelsupersite.com/how-to...your-password/

    https://www.online-tech-tips.com/ms-...-xls-password/

Definitely be careful with anything you try. Would HIGHLY recommend running a virtual machine and then doing it in there incase any of the tools have viruses.

Can now confirm, you need to do this:
    1) Open in google sheets
    2) Convert to google sheets format (because google sheets can now natively open XLSX files without converting them, but you don't want that)
    3) Rename it, or you'll get so confused
    4) Export as XLSX format.

    That removes the password.
