Just a prototype for now... but news is news. Maybe it's making a comeback?

Have been dreaming of a remake forever. S2000 was my favourite car I’ve owned.
I was gonna say I highly doubt it will come back, but here we are with a Civic Type-R again. Never say never, I guess.
Not sure how I feel about it. I can't help but think that a new one would just be worse. I have an AP1, and to be honest there's not a lot that could make it better. For what it is, it's almost perfect. Newer would be (likely) heavier/bigger, and that's a step in the wrong direction IMO.
If they did what mazda did with the ND Miata, and actually make it nearly as small/light as the original, but just with more power and refinement... that would be awesome. Based on the current Type-R compared to ITR or older CTR though, I don't have high hopes.
I feel like it's gonna be some sort of topless CR-Z which did not sell well at all...
My bet is that it'll be electric when it comes back.
I’m surprised they didn’t do some sort of mild hybrid just to showcase it.
AP1 F20 with small belt driven motor. 20hp/50tq

Akio Toyoda has been saying MR2 will be back as part of the 3 brothers (86/Supera/MR2).This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But the latest rumor is MR2 will be an EV. So I don't doubt Honda may resurrect S2K as EV as well.
The weight tho.....
