@Chantastic Those are pretty rad! Are you creating it digitally before hand?

Here is one I started this weekend of a sunrise over a cold prairie field. Experimenting with a new technique where you basically complete the painting alla prima (in one sitting) but then scrape all the paint off and use the result as an under painting for later. I think I actually really like the results so far! Makes it more interesting to the eye.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I really like that painting, post it when you're done. The garbage truck drawing was done by hand, but had to be turned into a vector file to be printed onto vinyl for the real life version. Otherwise, everything I've ever done has been by hand. Nothing against digital, I'm just not really that interested in it at this time.

These are awesome! I have seen something similar with well known Palm Springs Mid century modern homes.. What would you charge to do something like this?
Thanks! I'm glad you like them, I have many more in the series I still have to do. Eventually I'll be doing restaurants and various stores in Calgary. As far as pricing is concerned, it would depend on the size. That first house was done on a 18x24", 0.22" thick acrylic sheet, with acrylic standoff posts. They float about 3/4" off the wall. Materials alone exceed $115. I would have to charge $400 at that size. That being said, I could do similar work on paper for considerably cheaper or on smaller acrylic sheets as well. Let me know if you are interested.

Firstly, Bob - I think those are really good. For a beginner especially!

I make some of my own stuff. Rather, I have in the past but haven't exactly been inspired for a few years.

Awesome! I have a harder time doing stuff like you do. Maybe why I like painting. Less precise and more room to work with error! Lol!

Not painting necessarily, but I like to dabble in all sorts of things.

Saw similar things popping up at craft fairs so thought id take a stab. Geometric wood

And I have a hard time doing what you do! I'm always uptight about things, save for when I'm sketching.

Made a new painting today, staying with working in abstract landscape... It is from a photo of a lightening storm in the distance over a canola field on a backroad at dusk.

Started a new piece today. It is a quasi-nocturnal painting being just before sunrise so the scene is darker but full of that golden hour glow... Still a work in progress but happy so far.

So as an exercise I decided to experiment a bit with full abstract painting. It is kind of difficult to wrap my head around, but here are my first two efforts. The first is a deconstructed view of Morraine Lake and mountains that I created from a photo I took off the internet. The second is an experiment in colour strictly done by feel.

Just messing around with dollar store felts and canvas today, but was fun. A vastly simplified take on your angular composition above Bob. Haven't done any kind of visual art since I was a child. Tried to sort of take that carefree childish approach.

See, there you go!! You should pick up a paint brush dude... It is such a great way to relax!

This one is the painting I made today and a picture of my palette scraping after, which I took because I thought it looked quite “arty” and better than the painting I made from these oils did! Lol!

    Dang, impressive work.
I've always liked the abstract/ geometric style paintings.
Would be a neat skill to learn, but I already have too many damn hobbies...

Can be as expensive or cheap as you like. Like cursive writing...had no idea how expensive it could get just for paper...
