Tried something new for me today... I have never painted an animal and tried my hand at a little 6x8 creepy raven.

On a bit of a painting bender this week... Started this one yesterday. Still a ways to go but I am digging painting the birds!
Speaking of birds, I used to do a lot of carving in highschool. Been meaning to get back into it.

Wow that is amazing. Nice work.
Awesome carving @cycosis ! Working fully neanderthal or do you use a rotary tool? That is something I have not tried that has always interested me...
Both. Large rotary for rough shape then rotary sanding drum to smooth out. Knife work for larger feather shapes. Combo of burning pens and small rotary stones for feather details. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Went abstract today... Painted with acrylics too which is really weird for me but it was alright. 12x16 on canvas board
Love this. ^^^^^

My daughter, the artist says "it conveys a sense of depth perfectly". I say "it's wicked".

Anyone want to sell a 5'x7' or 4'x6' original, PM me. Abstract is fine as long as it's either colorful or a nice transition of shades. But open minded. Vertically orientated preferred.
Hint hint bob, lol.

5x7 foot?? That is a beast of a size! I have never tackled anything so large before... One day maybe! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Entrance/foyer piece on white wall.
Was debating wall sculpture or oil painting, but figured oil painting is easier.
Bobby makes some killer abstracts. I'd trust him with that size.

The question is, would I trust myself?! Haha! I would want to play with some small scales stuff to get a feel for what someone likes as an overall style/subject matter before committing to a piece that large on spec for sure. That is a shit ton of money in supplies if someone does not appreciate the end result! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeppers, which is why I hinted for bob haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit: I changed my mind. Something like 4'x4' would work better. Squares.
There. That is 8 square feet less LOL.
Your midnight waters caught my eye.
