    Default God I love Porsche.

It’s like they’re the guiding light in the night.

    They’re bringing more NA back.

400hp, 4L twins in GTS guise for under 90 USD.

Not much of a P car guy but their GTS models are always hawt, and super under appreciated.

Hopefully they fix the gearing. The one achilles heel for the GT4 was that the gearing (especially in 2nd) was far too tall.

Yeah. This one will actually come with PDK too.

    Should be very interesting.

i'm glad P is bringing back the sixes for all the haters but the 718 with turbo 4 is still a good and fast car. i'm expecting a not insignificant price drop on the remaining models (esp the GTS) once the updated engine becomes available which would make it ripe for picking.

Yes. This family is based off the 911 turbo engine and the GT3 is another family.

Would be cool to use the same one.

Did that change after the Mezger engine was discontinued? The 993 996 and 997s was the same Mezger family between turbo GT2 and GT3 from what I remember. Always told people to buy the turbo since it’s more reliable. The non turbos were brutal for all sorts of failures.

Yeah. Specifically for the Spyder and GT4 I think. A nice 8000rpm unit based on the newest 3L turbo engines.

These cars have me really interested. Maybe not enough to pass on my C8 allocation, but maybe.

Too many cars! Need an aircraft hanger!

I can't wait to see that in the "latest purchase" thread.

So the 2L turbo 4 is now out of all Porsche line ups?

Just on the top end trim levels I think.

Sounds like base and S will be turbos.
GTS and GT4/Spyder are NA 4L.

$60K USD for a mid-engine car that can do 0-60 in 2.9sec or $90K USD for a mid-engine car that does it in 4.3sec. The C8 has reset the performance benchmark so drastically it's insane.

You’re paying for the handling? At least from what’s been tested so far the C8 isn’t exactly fun to toss around.

I’m done with straight up numbers. Learned my lesson with the GTR.

I’m after fun, feel, total package.

From a roll race they’ll feel pretty even I bet. Cayman might be 118mph in the 1/4 vs just 2-3 more for the Vette.

Yes and no regarding the C8, it pushes a lot but that was to be expected as it's the first time ever a fast mid-engined car will be affordable to the average Joe, that can also apparently be significantly improved by using Chevy's track alignment settings (https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chev...e-even-better/). The poor feel of the brake-by-wire system is something I think can be easily fixed MY to MY by GM or even with just a re-calibration.
