A couple days ago Moderna dominated headlines around the globe citing 'favourable results' from their Phase I human trials. Great right? Well it's being met with a lot of skeptisiscm because experts have no data to go off of. Coupled with the fact Morgan Stanley bought 17MM common shares expected to be worth ~$1.35B and now a Moderna exec sold all his shares, the optics are not really 'favourable'.

Harvard Med Prof commenting on Moderna and later remdesivir

And former SEC lawer's opinion on Moderna's dealings

It's pretty funny how people get triggered over what a 16 (17?) year old does or doesn't do. Totally no hope for the world because Greta is somehow involved in a panel of pandemic experts. Nevermind the rampant anti-science attitudes of people everywhere or something. This latest Greta thing - that's what clued me in to how hopeless the world is.
They put Greta on because they know it will play to their audience. Which does make a statement about how stupid CNN's audience is. Which should also clue you into how hopeless the world is... But for a different reason.

Dude, anyone who follows any single outlet verbatim is pretty stupid.

And the point of every business is to create content/products/etc. that appeal to their base. That's just good marketing, as mentioned earlier.

But in terms of actual value - moving the needle in any given direction - this doesn't do jack shit other than trigger a bunch of people who can't handle seeing her name posted around. It's fucking hilarious. I shared this in a FB group and people are losing their minds. Free entertainment - feelin' good on a Wednesday

There are many people who take CNN seriously. Most of them are TDSers, but still.

    Better stock up on masks:

'Canada's chief public health officer is officially recommending Canadians wear non-medical face masks when maintaining a two-metre distance isn't possible.

Dr. Theresa Tam made the announcement on Wednesday, less than an hour after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke about his own approach to mask wearing and his intention to continue wearing a mask where physical distancing isn't possible. Tam told reporters that the language on masks has shifted from "permissive" to a "specific recommendation."'

Sure do. $10 for a box of 500 disposable gloves Pretty sure cheaper than hand sanitizer. I keep a box at the counter for customers too if they want to use. But hey, it's more for optics than actual protection, right? lol Plus I wash my hands once in the morning and then just never wash them again, just switch gloves.
Son of a bitch, you might be onto something.

The same thing she adds to everything, nothing.

PR ploy in the ways of the finest Helen Lovejoy. She's literally another walking Simpsons prediction.

edit - But it doesn't ruin my day, it'll ruin her life I am sure. Being used as a political pawn never really ends well for anyone, does it?
I agree with all of this. But hate that she is getting more airtime. The Lovejoy's are taking over the world

This is how 76% of the population wear masks from what I've seen, in public and on TV in news clips. Why the fuck even bother wearing one? It's like walking around with your dick outside your waist.
50% of whites wear mask that way.

10% of non-whites wear mask that way.

mask wearing is at public places is now around 40% shopping around during the long weekend.

100% for cashiers and 80% for people who served me food.

Like I said a month or so ago, if you want economy to restart, make mask mandatory. It's just common courtesy if this thing spreads without symptoms. Why would anyone be scared to be packed into a 20ppl elevator is everyone is wearing a mask?

And now the Chinese are saying there is a new string now spreading for 2 weeks before symptoms? Shit.

Oh there are lots of those. Although they have the legitimate option of just ignoring Grete, which most of them refuse to do.

Gloves give people a false sense of security,
I don't understand. Shouldn't people who think Covid is a "libtard" media hoax WANT people to have a false sense of security and reopen the world?

Or do you guys just like disagreeing with everything?

The same is true of every news outlet. Why do you always pick on left-leaning outlets for your examples?

Basically everyone on this forum is a TDSer - which "T" they're "DS"ed about varies a bit, though.

The media is, in general, rather left leaning.
