Peer review isn't bad. It's just over-rated. It's a relatively recent invention and not necessary to pursue the scientific method. People have enshrined peer review, but there are a lot of valid criticisms of it. Globally the new daily death numbers are flattening or decreasing marginally which is encouraging. Conversely there are a lot more cases than ever before which is likely attributed to significantly more testing taking place.
