How many months are we in this now, 5-6? You'd think after seeing the shit show that was/still is Quebec and their long-term care, that we'd get our shit together and protect the elderly in those homes. Nope, business as usual and they are still getting infected and dying. This is obviously from gyms and restaurants still being open, can't you see that your barbells and beers are killing old folk? What a joke. Care homes are essentially ground zero for this entire shit show and we are still allowing wide-spread infections and deaths. This has nothing to do with house parties and anti-maskers, it's pure negligence by the people who run those homes.

That's worse than dying in my book. 2nd only to going blind (personal opinion, not a known COVID long haul damage.... yet).
Damn you rather be blind than lose taste/smell?

At least you can eat healthy, enjoy nostalgic textures and be ripped or something. And still drive/enjoy TV/scenery/boobs.

    +1

Just imagine being British. They've never had tastebuds, to begin with.

    #1 fear is going blind.

    #2 fear is losing taste

Death is not even on the list. Death is easy.

A dentist once directly hit a nerve with the needle, causing a complete lack of taste for almost 18 months. It sucked big time, and caused some major depression.

I'd still rather that happen permanently, than to never see boobs again.

    FTFY.

    Kidding, yeah that sounds horrible.

    .
Isn't that a treat? Feels like being hit by lightning, followed by instant freezing. I had altered taste for a while, and no feeling in my tongue for months.
Had to test my coffee temperature carefully. Glad I didn't lose taste, that would be depressing.

It's as much negligence of the residents(or more). For the few people you do see not following mask mandates, it's a 99% likelihood to be a senior citizen. The people that we are destroying our entire economy and life as we know it to supposedly protect, are the ones least likely to care about this and protect themselves. Which makes you wonder why we are going to all this extra hassle, when there is no added scrutiny around the actual vulnerable population.

I would actually be more upset about going fully deaf than fully blind. I might not be able to see a booby anymore if blind, but I remember what they look like and can sure as fuck feel them and hear my lady when I play with them, where as if I was deaf, I think you lose a whole lot more of what connects you to the world and would end up so deep inside my own head I would probably crack up. Fun fact... People seem to think being deaf means it is just quiet, but often deaf people have super tinnitus and constant ringing etc and it makes them nuts. I have tinnitus bad enough and hearing other sounds helps mask it a bit, but if all I could hear was the tinnitus I think I would pull the pin.

Hindshaw's update last night was pretty grim (7% positive rate is bananas), and she's basically at the mercy of what Shandro deems is important. Meanwhile, there are protests downtown of anti-maskers.

    What a time.
Yup - we are going to be dealing with this for another year

Also which one of you goofs left this? Ate least put a name to it pussy:

I joined this club 2 years ago, it was fucking annoying at first but now I can cope with this. Tried many things but nothing works other than drowning it out with constant sound.

It sucks! I am that fucking idiot who spent my first 6 years in the tire business swinging sledge hammers and bead axes on semi truck split rims etc and being young and dumb figured hearing protection was not necessary. Now I am paying for it big time!

    Always wear your hearing protection!

Someone's going after broken city in human rights tribunal because they were refused unmasked entry.

Time to organize a beyond meet at broken city?
