So current active cases seem to be around 15,000 which is about triple of what it was roughly 10 days ago but ICU patients are down to 50, lowest it's been in quite some time. Perhaps we can stop the fear narrative and just get on with shit?
If we stop listening to experts who keep calling for lockdowns we will be fine.

So Ontario went from 490 hospitalizations to 726 to 965 in two days. Not a great sign but still hoping its just a backlog of updates from the past week of Christmas non-reporting. Still though, doubling isn't great to see. AB won't report a full update until Tuesday so I guess we'll see good or bad what the new years going to look like then.

i like what Prim Mo of Sask just said that they are going to start tracking hospitalization due to covid vs being in the hospital for something else with covid... very important to know the difference...

One is a fear stat the other is the state of the nation because of covid...

we had a slight uptick in hospitalization in Alberta yesteraday but nothing crazy ... i thought we where going to get internet updates today and tomorrow with a full update on Tuesday....

just get those kiddos vaxxed so they dont close the schools... if that happens i will go off the deep end...

Should have been done everywhere from the very beginning. Instead, they used those hospital and case numbers to pump out restriction policy.

ya a couple of hospital outbreaks would wildly skew the statistics. Suddenly everyone that is already in hospital catches covid as an incidental case and it makes it look like omicron is dusting people left and right. Definitely need to know hospitalizations FROM covid vs ppl in hospital who happen to have covid.

Ontario’s numbers already reflect that. It’s captured as number of hospitalizations due to Covid related illnesses.

Without knowing age and obesity status (along with bench/deadlift/squat PRs), that metric is meaningless. If healthy working class adults aren't being admitted then who gives a fuck. I feel like at this point all restrictions need to end and people start taking personal responsibility. Scared? Stay home. Need to go out and scared? Wear a N95 mask. Don't go to mass sporting events, concerts and bars/restaurants, gyms etc where large gatherings happen. If you do, wear a N95 if you're scared or compromised of some sort. I'm done with this mass population punishment to protect the minority of weaklings.

So why was Patrick Brown saying even yesterday that they need to split it out? Unless there is something new today from the Ontario government, I doubt they could change their reporting and compile everything in a day.

It looks like ICU is broken out between being there due to covid related illness and simply testing positive, but not hospitalizations

Is there some kind of news aggregator where I can read only news where they don’t mention Covid anywhere in the article?

Can we just all start reporting symptoms and drive the number of cases through the roof? Cases would go way way up, but hospitalizations wouldn't increase. Maybe if the infection rate is 100% all the time but nobody is dying they'll finally fuck off and let us go back to normal life.
