Completely agree, however it comes back into dealing with the problems in our own country. If it's not our problem to save lives in Africa, why should it be my problem if vulnerable people die in Canada because of a statistically non-lethal virus? Why should it be the working class age (18-60) who suffers the most because the most vulnerable age (60+) has a slightly higher chance of death. 'It's not my problem' if people on their last few years of their lives just die a bit sooner. (Majority of the deaths in Canada are in LTC, which is essentially not my problem) Their possible sacrifice of a slightly shorter lifespan will allow the rest of the western world to continue on and live their lives. More people are seeing this every day and covid fatigue is playing a huge role in this. The US is essentially in DIAF mode right now, packed super bowl stadiums and team victory parades. In Canada, when you have the media (CTV/CBC/GN) constantly pushing the same fear mongering agenda, it's impossible to move forward as a country because the masses are too stupid to question what they are being fed. Staying home and being fed from the social welfare tit has made Canadians lazy and unwilling to do anything else.

It's not that we didn't care but it's more like it's not our problem. Most African countries has corrupted governments and aids of any kind will only go to fat cats on the top.

The few that has managed or be managed properly has seen very good result:
    https://www.worldbank.org/en/country...pia/overview#1

A friend of mine has been thru Africa in the 90 is various Canadian gov initiatives to "help". It's not helping them one bit because the people and government are not set up to keep what they are given. Whatever infrastructure you set up, it'll be gone in weeks/months/years and people and militia strips it.

The key to get people out of trouble is the people to understand what happens when a government destabilizes and unable to enforce shit.

Yes... "stupid" is certainly the word I would select in reference to those who follow requests from their elected officials and deep analysis from experts who have dedicated their lives to the study of disease. And therefore, I imagine those who listen to conspiracy videos and form their own unique ineducated opinions are enlightened and intelligent.

    Makes perfect sense.

Well, the whole Africa game is to drum up business eventually for out infrastructure companies like SNC. China is doing the same to drum up business for their infrastructure firms. But it's basically like pay day loan, you can probably collect 1/2 of what's given out but hopes that enough to give you a foot hold for future business.

As for helping out own citizens, unfortunately we all share the same hospitals. So once they are full, you have to do something, simple as that. And it's not like one can just stick a DNR on the forehead and we can ignore it and let you die on the side the of road. That's why we have to help ourselves with all these restrictions and rules.

And after opening for a week or so, our infection rate is trending back up again.

Internal e-mails reveal a sense of frustration among the highest levels of the Prime Minister’s Office with the Public Health Agency of Canada, as political staff were caught off guard by some of the agency’s key announcements during the pandemic and questioned its decisions.
Maybe this should be in trudeau must go? Lol

Covid is not a conspiracy, yes it’s out there but it’s not the global killer these “experts” are making it out to be. Being educated and smart are not the same thing, you can still be an idiot with a degree. Healthcare workers should never be allowed to make decisions that affect economies. Politicians are stupid for following their advise above anything else.
