you assume they are at max EI. They are both in the restaurant industry which means they probably never claimed tips so i think their income on paper is closer to $15/hour which means $1320 each before tax. Kinda tight when your rent is $1600 + pay your own utilities

if i end up getting this free money from the US stimulus i'll definitely pass along some savings to them just cuz they have been amazing tenants.

And that amount is fully taxable too. Both times I was on EI they didn't withhold enough and I owed at tax time. Pretty. Crazy because one year it was literally my only income, and they still didn't withhold enough.

I'm of the thought that once this is all over with there will be very little change, unless it gets italy serious around here. There will be some grandstanding at first, on how we need to do this and that.. But I think people will settle into old routines and remember this as 'remember that time... yeah, that kinda sucked'

Don't know if I am reading the rule wrong, if your EI payment started you stay on EI.

If you just applied for EI, you get CERB instead and EI after.

Basically CERB is to handle this crazy period that EI with all the check and balance can't.

Basically, but between that and the AB one time payment I just can’t see a good excuse right now to not pay your rent... of course excluding exceptional vices, but nothing should surprise me with the shit I see everyday

I would never suggest someone actually jerryrigging their own ventilator, but having a desk fan handy - blowing left right or right left across the face, just might save yourself some brain damage. but now all the enforcement tools has been shelved as well, there will be some that will skip rent for Apr just because they can.
