Tirebob is a good dude. I don't always like HOW he makes his points, but he's a good dude in any case.

SARS-1 never went away. It's still around! People still get it. Years after! It's simply not as lethal as before. Can you think of why?
What does SARS-1 still being around have anything to do with what's happening with COVID-19?

Are you trying to argue that because SARS-1 is still out there with no vaccine that you don't see people still quarantine and hiding out in their homes?

It was contained, meaning there are no current outbreaks, there are no epidemics let alone a pandemic. So yes, no one is staying at home worried about getting SARS-1.

What a concept right? If a virus is contained, people won't die! Is COVID-19 contained right now? Did I miss something or is Suntan delusional? #derpderp right?

I am a greatly misunderstood creature quite often, and my brain does process ideas a little differently than most. It could be considered a curse. No matter what though, my intentions are almost always noble, even if it isn't immediately apparent. Thanks for letting me get there eventually without assuming the worst!

SARS-1 was also much easier to deal with. People weren't contagious until they had symptoms. COVID-19 can spread before you have symptoms and a quarter of people don't show symptoms at all.

So yeah, SARS-1 is still out there but it's not really relevant to things. Also we know how to better treat patients if they come down with it. We're try still trying to find better treatments to COVID-19 to lessen the load on hospitals.

We are all sucky people to some extent.

I couldn't find that veterans charity that you were supporting last year or I would have sent it there.

Wait a second, SARS 1 is still around? I thought there were only 4 confirmed cases after 2003 according to this?

Alberta starting to see some leveling off of new cases - large spikes though as the sample size is so small, esp with care homes affected.

Why are you researching something that is already somewhat accepted? We are all donuts.

Changes in testing criteria (decreased) and lab challenges (possibly supplies) leading to decreased tests. Community transmission cases continue to increase. See Dr Deebot's March 30 update.

I think this week's data could be misleading due to slow down on testing.

If we truly let Canadians come back from US, this will not be over until Sep.

yup, reported # of cases is no longer useful to look at since they reduced testing. # of deaths and hospitalizations is more relevent.
