For this to be true, your coworker would have had to answer his door. If he did, he’s an idiot
That's a good point, I never answer my door unless I am expecting a delivery or a guest. I doubt the bylaw officers want to sit around for more than a few minutes.

And the most important question still remains, how do you enforce social gatherings? Nobody gives a shit about any of these restrictions and I see them skirted/circumvented daily, and most people I know are full steam ahead with Christmas plans.

But yea lets close restaurants and gyms, the ones that are actually trying their best to make it work.

Reliance on neighbors ratting each other out and people being dumb enough to answer the door for police/bylaw.

I think it's just because they can enforce the business side of things far easier than people's Christmas dinners. Enforcement has always been the issue since so few people comply with all the rules. Proper mask wearing is average at best and I haven't seen someone socially distance a true 6ft in a long time haha. I've been in elevators that aren't even 6ft wide asking people to stay 6ft apart The arrows on the grocery store floors might as well not even be there either and the employee disinfecting 100 carts with the same rag probably isn't doing much.

A coworker of mine claimed his neighbor ratted him out and he got a $1000 fine for going to his parents place for dinner, not sure if it's true or not but something to keep in mind as a possibility I guess.
    he's lying.

If my boss says I'm required, I guess I'm required. Feedback in October was "get your ass to work".

Will definitely have to wait and see what the restrictions actually will be since this CTV article gives some different changes:

"Masks will be made mandatory while indoors province-wide, according to a memo obtained by CTV News, and hair and nail salons, gyms and tattoo parlours will be closed.

Along with the expanded mask rule, indoor and outdoor social gatherings will be prohibited effective immediately and close contact limited to household members only. People who live alone will be allowed up to two close contacts for in-person visiting. Those two people must stay the same while the measures are in effect.

Personal and wellness services like hair salons, nail salons, tattoo and piercing parlours will be shut effective midnight on Sunday, and casinos, bingo halls, gaming entertainment centres, horse tracks, raceways, bowling alleys, pool halls, legions and private clubs will also be closed.

Retail businesses can remain open but capacity will be reduced to 15 per cent. Places of worship will also be limited to 15 per cent of capacity for in-person services.

Working from home will be mandatory, "unless the employer determines that work requires a physical presence for operational effectiveness," the memo reads."

My wife and I have been talking, and you know what, fuck Christmas shopping. People are such retards out there that the last thing we want is to stand in lines to get into stores or malls to buy more crap we don't need. This is a good year to save money, pay down debt or contribute to RRSP, and embrace a less commercial holiday.

Will be lots of "essential work" that can only be completed "physically in the office" going around I'm sure. I'm sure Kenny's rules will be vague.... again.

Fuck that. Yolo. I’m going to die with a max amount of debt, not my problem, can’t pay it off if I’m dead.
