    STFU Moderna CEO

“I think it’s going to be a material drop. I just don’t know how much because we need to wait for the data. But all the scientists I’ve talked to … are like ‘this is not going to be good’,” Bancel said.
And the market is spooked again.

    Why would he shut up?

This is an absolute cash cow for Moderna and Pfizer.
They are going to milk it for all its worth.

They don't care about anyone's personal feelings towards Covid as long as they continue to sell their vaccine.

So what's the game plan here, get a booster, then Moderna/Pfizer drop a new vaccine?

I figured the Pfizer/Merck pills were basically the pandemic enders, but it seems like another vaccine feedback loop is incoming.

Health Canada Alberta hasn’t yet approved boosters for the general public. Presumably over the next 3-4 weeks when Omicron has been better studied they’ll have a better idea of a plan of action. Moderna and Pfizer both said it’d take a few months to start producing an altered booster to better target Omicron (though that needs to be balanced with it also being effective against current / delta strains).

Since boosters are only 1 shot and manufacturing has ramped significantly it shouldn’t be much of a problem to get boosters in early spring either way. Canada has already pre purchased enough boosters from both Pfizer and Moderna to each cover our population so I can’t see it being more than a month or two from release to widespread availability here. Moderna and Pfizer are both projecting they’ll produce 3 billion and 4 billion doses in 2022 respectively.

Why the concern over Omicron: So far it has about 50 various mutations that differ it from the original Covid strain and 32 of those mutations are in the spike protein which is the concern. So far it doesn't appear to be any more deadly however if it makes vaccines less effective then it would hit the elder population harder whom are already at risk. We've already seen the Delta variant be stronger against vaccines then the UK variant (Alpha) and the prior South Africa (Beta) ones so we'll see how much of a difference between Omicron and Delta there are.

It'll take about 2-3 weeks for us to learn how effective the current vaccines are. Currently theres a lot of various research groups that are culturing synthetic versions of the Omicron variant to begin testing. By mid Dec we should have a better understanding if this is a concern or if it'll be not as big of deal as people are expecting.

In the end though, vaccines are still effective in protecting people regardless if they are reduced against this variant. A 50% protection is still better than no protection. Hopefully with kids now getting shots we can see the Delta strain die off soon as we've seen the Uk/S.A. variants almost entirely disappear.

Oops, my bad. Alberta hasn't though. They're still only doing targeted boosters.

He probably meant AHS. I checked the guideline yesterday and it's still 70+ and special cases only.

I believe BC gen pop also doesn't start until 2022.

Not the most professional in an office setting, I got these for Coaching kids hockey..for more ventilation you can rotate it sideways for the full mesh! Basically a single layer spandex type material.
Plenty of options under 'neck gaiter for running' etc.

Another option if you want to go the hipster route.. use a bandana folded in half. I was really surprised on how much cooler (temperature wise) it was as it didnt trap your breath against your face.

If the original vaccine doesnt work on this one can you get a refund? Are we still calling these vaccines at this point?

Lol please tell me you guys all saw this coming.

Judging by a few people gloating about how they are triple vaxxed makes me think otherwise.

It was all predicted a while back that the triple vaxxers would start to turn on the double the same way the doubles turned on the non vaxxed

4th jab coming 2022 just in time for Easter and time for the quads to turn on the triples

Need a few worldwide riots that end up with multiple government officials dead before this ends tbh, otherwise we'll be looking at our 6th jab to prevent an Xmas 2022 lockdown

Not this 51 year old... I will stay with two. I don't trust my immune system to handle it again after the last one. 5 months in after my second and I am still fighting issues. I will just hole up and wait for the end of days at this point.
