Ahh sick days. I remember when I used to be able to take those. I anticipate I won't get another one until I retire, unless I'm physically unable to speak/type.
you wouldn't want a job that had sick days

I'm not saying everyone would want to be, but I think he would want to be.

I think he would prefer to be in a position where the only thing that matters are results, not where you are every minute of the day.

More ideal is when you are in a position where you get ample time away and the results you are rewarded for are not your own. Check back with me in 18 months about this plan.

Reward and accountability for results are intrinsically linked (accountability doesn’t necessarily mean you are the one delivering though). Typically, high reward means high level of accountability, and high demand on a persons time. An example of the exception that I think you’re getting at is the person who starts a business, and eventually gets it to the “cruise control” stage and can step back a bit. If you have any secrets that can short circuit that arduous process and get me there ASAP, I will subscribe to your newsletter.

I'm in the gang too. I mean I guess technically I have days off but I always do some work throughout the day with answering e-mails, inquiries etc even when on holidays. The second I am bored and have nothing else to do I try and answer some. I hate the buildup and avoid it at all possible.

I too need to get my pre going into lockdown again haircut... I wonder why the number of frontline workers are only filling 15% of the available spots for the vaccine... I thought they would be lined up out the door as it’s the new sliced bread these days
I responded to this on another board. EVERYBODY wants to get this. When it opened up the appointments filled up really fast, and the closest any of us could get was up to 2 weeks away. Then, on Thursday they suddenly opened up a whole ton of availability for the immediate weekend, but the problem was there was no communication of this (or there was, and it was incomplete). Many of us didn't get emails, but word of mouth spread like wildfire so people hit up the site to modify their appointments......Which was also riddled with problems. Some people were told they had to cancel their booking, and then rebook, which failed. Some people (myself included) had no problem modifying the appointment and I got done the next day, which seemed to be only the people booked at Richmond Rd, everyone else at every other location it wouldn't allow them to rebook, so they had to maintain their regular appt. It was SO POPULAR we crashed the booking site, to the point that IT was sending out panic emails indicating they were working on fixing it. I have colleagues who drove from here to Red Deer, and Edmonton just to get it quicker, 6 hour round trip for a 15 minute shot. But the "optics" damage was done by Dr. Hinshaw who didn't know of all of these issues, and instead decided to indicate to the public we didn't seem interested in getting vaccinated, when it was the system and process failures. Tons of people still haven't gotten rebook emails. Entire departments started handing physical staff lists to organizers as the other way wasn't working to communicate to anyone. There's tons of confusion on the facebook groups, people who should be eligible don't have the email to book. You can't just be like oh hey I work in "so and so" department and we are getting shots, I'll sign up. You have to be invited to sign up with a generated link. Half of the lineup when I was there was all of my coworkers, I assure you its definitely widely accepted.

The one point of disagreement with some is the change to 35-42 days for the booster. There are a number who chose not to rebook to an earlier slot this weekend because when you did you lost the 21-28 day booster for the new plan, and they preferred to keep the initial interval because of the trial data

See above. I expected no other reply from you though

I mean, if you get vaccinated, you get less opportunity to take “sick days”.

Sounds like an unorganized shit show, I expect nothing less from Canadian Healthcare. If we can’t vaccinate our medical staff in a timely manner, the rest of the population is fucked.

The less restriction there is on who gets vaccinated, the easier it becomes.

A hiccup now that Pfizer is retrofitting a facility to allow for more production for the rest of 2021, so doses will drop over the next few weeks. But they're holding the line that they expect Q1 delivery targets to be met (so fewer doses for a few weeks than expected, but more than expected in March and then carried on into Q2 and 3). So the political finger-pointing is going to get even more fun over the next few weeks.

This is really annoying, but part of the game I guess.

Exactly. People with dolla dollas usually have paid their dues, or are constantly paying their dues. The fact of the matter is that most of the population aren't really willing to do that.
