I don't understand the teachers and NDP somehow trying to tie class sizes into the Covid-19 discussion. Any change in class sizes would take a multi-year plan (maybe multi-decade) of building more schools and hiring more teachers. If we want the total education budget to go up 40-50% (and provincial taxes by at least 25%) then I guess we can all start voting NDP and make it a reality.

They want to rent space from empty offices around the city. Which would make transportation a frigging nightmare. If they hired all the substitutes as full-time, they could cover that part, until a few teachers get sick, and then there's no substitute pool to draw from.

Want to save money and reduce class size? Stop bussing students, and the ones that need a bus are online only, viewing the teacher in the class with a webcam, same as the kids that are actually in the classroom.

Pretty sure most parents in this city view subsidized bussing as a god given right.

The only bike park you needed a mask in Canada this year was whistler. Standing in line, Loading, unloading in

lift. Makes no sense, everyone is outside and 6ft apart anyways. Just a pain in the ass.
Just remember the key phrase of any HSE professional, Structural Engineer or risk averse loser who took one law class in college when they don't know the fucking answer, but need to justify their existence:

    "WELL, I'D FEEL BETTER IF..."

I wonder if the bussing for kids was recalculated based on full capacity buses. Every bus I see now with covid has less than half the kids on it partially because of social distancing but mostly because people are just driving their kids to school. Also drop off and pick up is noticeably lighter at my school Im sure the covid 20% of cbe students must be different across schools based on how poor/rich the neighborhood is. (there is probably a better word for that)

Busing is incredibly cheap. Source: I have two kids on buses this year, and I'm saving massively over the before-and-after care I paid for last year. Way cheaper than my bus downtown too.

At one of my kids schools, a specialized program that has more busing then neighborhood schools, they dropped the number of buses by 40% this year. I think that's a combination of parents driving and the HUB learning, although HUB learning works pretty poorly for specialized programs.

School supply list - 3 fabric pencil cases with zipper - no plastic.
Tuesday evening email - no fabric pencil cases, send plastic.

This is a scam by big stationary to force us to buy extra supplies

Well after driving by multiple junior and senior high schools today in Cochrane and Calgary, I am thoroughly convinced that there will be another huge wave because the kids attending these schools are not, for the most part, wearing masks or practicing any sort of social distancing. It's like nothing has changed in their worlds, pisses me off because many people are going to get fucked over by these young people's poor choices.
You're not alone. All this criticism of class sizes, social distancing and cohorts is going out the window when spread is going to be outside of the school outside of anyone but the kids control.

Classroom environments will be higher risk than outside environments by a significant margin. We don't spread covid outside as easily, for reasons that aren't entirely clear yet.

Is that a proven fact though? Like same amount of people, in the same sq.ft area, for the same amount of time, but outside it's a lesser transmission rate?

Or is it that you aren't likely to stay in the same spot outside for as long, and be more distanced from eachother.

We don't know. It appears that COVID is viral load dependent. So Viral Load of Spreader x Exposure time x Exposure Distance x Environmental Factors = Viral Load Received

So if you are outside with someone who is barely contagious (low viral load), for a brief period of time, with physical distancing, outside, you are likely to get no infection or a mild infection. If you are stuck in an elevator for an hour kissing someone with a large viral load, you dead.

Also, you tends to gather under UV may help to a degree.

Still given BC had many outbreak tied to beach parties, social distance and not sharing anything is still the key.

Queensland, AU. No dancing at a wedding, but an orgy is fine.

Solution. Book your wedding at a swingers club.
