Seems like all I hear lately are dead people piling up in long term camp....errr care facilities. Anyone have a statistic of how many of the dead in Canada were from LTC?

I still want to know what the plan is to pay for all these welfare programs.

Some of these places cost $3000+/month.
Seriously. For 3 weak ass meals per day and a bus to drive you to casino or mall once a week.
Agree, they are already expensive, but run very cheaply in terms of staffing costs. I don't know what profit margin is, but I assume it's not insanely high, or companies would be scrambling to open more and better ones.

If they cost $3000/mo now, I imagine they'd be $4500/mo with better paid staff.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

    Yeah, no kidding.
Unless they needed some sort of specialized care that family cannot provide, it really makes no sense. Overpriced nursing homes FTL.

With that said, I understand there are good homes out there that do justify this cost as they provide pretty good care. Taking care of someone with dementia, Alzheimer's, or someone who needs that full-time physical/mental care is an immense job and some places do a better job. There are just so many "meh" ones out there that I wouldn't want to ever take that risk unless absolutely needed.

    Are you seriously claiming

A large number of people under 60 have died. You are on glue. 20s is definitely less than 60...

There is a chart in the link. Sweden adopted the herd immunity approach - some legality issues. I'm not sure if that's what I would classify as faring well.

Switzerland and the Netherlands should be on that chart but that doesn't support the alarmism.

a graph of raw death numbers is a terrible way to compare strategies in countries of widely different populations.

Yes, but it's also a great way to scare people into their houses without any context.

So... 30% CNN poll showing conspiracy (man made). Its not really a conspiracy if its too close to majority. I'm losing my unique identity to all these conspiracy wannabes.

North Carolina lab is where they say it was made (USA again showing bias as only they could create something so deadly)

My in-laws (wife's uncle) own one of these homes on Vancouver island, and they're in the process of opening a couple more. I don't have insight into the details, but there is good money in it. I can only assume there's lots of headaches involved in opening/running one of these. I can't imagine what it would be like to try and staff a place like this.

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

Considering the truth of this quote, I expect we’ll be getting more goofs calling this “alarmism”. Especially if those Trudeau dollars run out and more people get desperate.

AHS will now pretty much test anyone that feels sick for COVID. Cases will shoot up, but make our numbers pretty solid from this point forward.

Guess the unions calling for Cargill to close as it's got a large number of cases.

The scariest part there is - most of the Cargill people I know, have wives that work as HCA/NA/LPN and have borders in the house who also work in those same fields.

Oh this could get bad for high river no wonder they parked the town float on center Street...

It is also explains why High River has 60 cases now on the geospatial data. Dr Hinshaw explained this as several family clusters.

I'm trying to not mention an ethnic group... But it's almost always dad at Cargill, mom at care facility and 1-2 TFW borders...

But the carpools from Calgary are insane too
