Only 8 new cases in alberta yesterday but also first death in Alberta.

I wish they would just start the press conference youtube stream a couple of mins early instead of when its already started.
Shut down the border. Fuck those assholes still coming up. They can suck on BC's tits.

We have relatives down in Arizona, they finally started coming back up on Tuesday. We've been bothering them for WEEKS about it.

Family friends were driving back from Arizona yeterday and said that the I-15 looked like a drag race of Alberta plates.

That's a whole lot of COVID cases driving themselves to our communities. My parents took the isolation extremely seriously, but it just takes a small handful of idiots to see the mini explosions occur.
Are they bringing ammo? Because I hear they've finally got around to price gouging if you buy less than 1,000 rounds at a time. Cuz of course, might as well shoot everything coming at you.
    Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.

27 new cases in that last 24 hours.... 7, maybe 8 of them confirmed as community spread.

Their website just crashed too. It's back up. Now up to 146 from 119 yesterday.

I actually think they were just updating the website with the new sexy graphics to indicate the death.

So you're saying we should buy a years stock of TP ASAP?
I think what's important to keep in mind is that I don't think supply chain will be affected by this. It's not "deadly" enough that supply chain could not still operate. So, I think that panic doesn't need to exist around anything really other than how many people we are going to lose.

I believe we are facing a new normal until we are able to vaccinate this in some way. It's going to cause some really interesting changes in society.

Asides from the right bias of that, it's been my position the whole time. We are completely self-crippling our economies to save 8% of people who are likely going to die soon anyways.

The "cure" (but not even a cure) is worse than the disease.

I have to wonder if governments would be so hysterical over this if the age demographic of deaths wasn't the same as 90% of the politicians.

Wouldn’t be an issue if younger people voted in the number that the old do

Twice as infectious and almost 200x more deadly. But yeah it's the same thing.

At the end of all this, there is no way COVID-19 is going to end up with a fatality rate that high.

Hey I hope they are correct. If in four weeks we all are ashamed of how much we overreacted, then that a solid win.
If this burns out in four weeks, it's not because we overreacted, it's because of what we've done to stop it.

The US has increased 4000+ cases in the last 12 hours, that's scary as hell

And what if it doesn't? What if it just hangs around forever? Then what? Some models are saying 18 months of quarantine. There will be no economy left. Governments will have been overthrown. Fuck if it lasts that long I'm going to Ottawa and blowing Trudeau's head off.

Well. If we make it to summer we can all plant victory gardens. Time to ramp up seed envelopes.

That's an opinion article. There are literally millions of those right now.

I would hardly call that another perspective.
