And here I thought you would be all for something that doesn't drain tax resources.

Hah! So true. Lets hope the BS around my attendance is the worst of the issues. I already can't go to any appointments (not that I add anything but support).

And home birth... are you fucking kidding me? Cue the "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" at the first sight of blood so that would not work haha.
It’s just dumb things along the way, stuff that stood out:

Anaesthesiolgist might make you leave while they administer an epidural (doesn’t want to risk you getting him sick)
You can take your mask off if no one else is there, but people are always popping in so get used to it (including while you sleep)
You won’t have anything to eat so plan for that, after the big show if you want food you will need to leave and pass Covid screening every time you come in (the risk I had is they were changing rules real time while I was in so there was a real risk of not being let back in if they changed rules on visitors)
You count as the only visitor, so if wifey is close with mom who expects to be there that’s going to be a hard conversation
Your room will have a bathroom in it, you can’t use it. You need to leave the ward to use general hospital facilities and then get let back in
There is nowhere for you to sleep, expect a glorified lawn chair in the corner.

Some of this is usual stuff, others is pandemic specific. In general it’s just an annoying unforgivable situation and we were happy to get out of dodge as soon as possible.

It’s all fun and games until you need an expensive ambulance ride and subsequent aftercare from having your neighbourhood quack try and play doctor.

My guess is the incremental cost of having a baby in the hospital is surprisingly small considering how much of the costs are fixed and getting spent whether the bed is full or not.

Don't feel like reading this whole thread, but my bodies been fucken broken for awhile now, finally getting to speak with a cardiologist in 10 days.

Don't think i had covid It's possible I was asymptomatic but my heart rate has been completely fucked for months now.

But ya waiting 5 weeks to speak to a cardiologist seems extremely excessive right now.

Thanks it's every day when i stand up or try to walk around.

But ya PoTs and Covid seem related, if I did get it from covid I'd vouch for this shit being real.

    https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/heal...s-there-a-link

I'm not worried, i just want a diagnosis at this point and how to minimize it and see if it's sodium + water or something else I can use.

Only reason I was able to go get a cardiologist appointment was because I bought a heart rate monitor and wore it since the standard EKG tests don't show anything since my body is fine when im laying down or sitting.

So patios closed and personal services? That’s all that there really is, unless they close “nonessential” businesses.

It is a shame to see they buckled to the union and decided to delay Phase 3 to give teachers a token period to book

I love how you sarcastically shit on anything coming down yet you were pretty lax about what activities choose to risk your family with during a pandemic.

That’s ok. It’s not your fault.

Was just a close contact and upset at the 14 day quarantine requirement.

I swear the most vocal ride the highest horses. No evidence to support that, purely anecdotal.

Well 20-something teachers are eligible for the jab. I'm sure that'll help kenneys popularity with union members.

That’s been my experience too. Very vocal about needing more to be done, needing priority because of “risk” and giving other people grief; then completely ignore it when it’s their own behaviour

Everyone is supportive of restrictions on other people.

Most of these people also feel the rules somehow do not apply to them.

    Humans. Humans are the problem.

Well the good news is everyone can basically get the jab now. Honestly considering just booking out for late next week under the assumption it'll be wide open by then.
