"SRS bidness for violators, meow! No longer will we watch a church packed full for 54 straight weeks and that time we did fuck all when everyone apparently went to a rodeo... We're not gonna do fuck all anymore, because we're getting the hang of this now that it's Week-59!!ˇ"

Starting May 10th you and nine others can go visit the elderly in an LTC Home, though!
Did they forget to rescind that?

Also he said all workplaces with outbreaks are mandated to close. I cant see them closing any suncor plants over this:

    Outbreaks include:
Suncor base plant, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Suncor Firebag, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Suncor Fort Hills, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Suncor Mackay River, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo

Guys, we need to lockdown for two weeks now so we don’t have to lockdown later. This has worked before, just a few more weeks to flatten the curve. We are in this together. Preserve the eyeseeyous
Well Quebec's lockdown works. Ontarios lockdown works to a degree. This really isn't far enough IMHO at this point but this level of lockdown should have been anounced 2 weeks ago when the school boards said they are f'd.

As many had saw before this virus doesn't respect your political view or how things should be or ran. The only way to beat it is to keep everyone physically away from each other until vaccination take effect which at this point is still 3-4 weeks away.

As @Buster said, people just can't grasp with concept of exponential growth.

Also, JK finally willing to say there are only 400 ICU beds if we stop everything else. This should get that 1000 number from everyone's heads.

You know we all think that he's not putting in lockdowns to appease his base, but whats stopping his base just chucking him out as leader and putting in a new leader of the ucp?

Any workplace, except work camps and essential and critical services, with transmission of 3 or more cases will be required by health officials to close for 10 days.
Who would the “base” replace Kenney with?

Maybe one of those rural mla's that wrote the anti-lockdown letter a couple of weeks ago.

None of them came even close to Kenney’s popularity in the UCP leadership race. Or the PC race before it.

Those MLA’s do better bitching from the sidelines.

And with this province’s definition of essential.. means nothing is going to change …

Let's say that I believe we could literally open everything on Monday back to 100% while maintaining mask mandates/encouragement and the increase in case numbers would be suppressed by the continuing wave of vaccinations without any additional drama.

If I believe this, am I alone? (Aside from the crazy people).

Is it really that crazy a projection compared to the comical projections the gov't has told us? The numbers would jump way up and the hospitalizations and deaths might just barely move. Many people would still choose to stay inside and take extra precautions.

I'm not saying I'm committed to this stance, but I think it may be less crazy than it sounds.
I'd like to say that 6 weeks later it was really obvious that this was wrong.
But... It isn't obvious, is it?
It would be almost easy to argue that this theory was right.

Keeping kids home is the fiasco that no one needed. Fuck.

More restrictions needed when the previous restrictions weren’t enforced. Sounds legit.

    Not little enforcement. No enforcement.

People are chickenshits. All we needed were to crack a few skulls publicly and the rest of the crazies would have hidden at home and stayed quiet.

Doesn’t help when almost everyone I talk to believes that fines are being thrown out 90% of the time. I can’t imagine that’s anywhere near true and I bet people are going to get a rude awakening when they need to renew license or registration.

Keeping the kids home is probably just as much about getting the parents home

Did you not see the article about the fines and how they are being tossed? Perhaps people are being fined but when the news says more about them being thrown out than being fine.. what do you think people will say.

As far as I’m concerned enforcement entails going all the way through to conviction.
