If anyone wants to read, I read this and started doing a bunch of different 'hippy' shit. Mostly breath-work and my constant headaches and nasal issues have disappeared. So might help some of you guys with nasal issues.

Even with the high quality of our Calgary water, I'm good with the $2 4L distilled water purchases.

Basically, nobody knows how long it takes. The last time we did a test (asymptomatic) took 5 or 6 days when they said it'll take 2 or 3.

Definitely dont use straight up tap water up there. I know the chances are slim but boiled or distilled is the way to go.

You may have had a minor issue or an infection but not always manifest.

Its not like you will likely get bacteria in Calgary tap water, its a degree of chance. You could do this for 10 years and be fine, and someone else gets immediately sick from having chloramine up the nose the same (irritant).

Sorry but, check your units, you'd be unable to use ammonia based cleaners (windex) or bleach (chlorine) in your house if the quantity of chloramine in a litre of tap water causes you immediate illness.

Ya, I can't do Reactine either, but you should try Claritin.

Or better yet, the extra strength anti-histamine at Costco is the absolute best. I notice it work very quickly, it's relatively cheap for the amount you get, and I eat it on an empty stomach all the time and feel great.

I know people personally who cannot use most household cleaners because of this exact issue - but my point was that everyone reacts differently to having non sterilized/ common tap water up into their sinuses. Great place for bacteria to proliferate for some (like me) with sinus issues.
