Back to stats again - the mass media wont show you this.

Number of positive cases, per test, are rising again, second wind. However this does not differentiate between those who are asymptomatic to those in ICU.

Oh and its right there, masks did fuck all in terms of lowering the % of positives back in August/Sept OR preventing this latest breakout.

Here is the current rate of ICU vs non ICU cases in AB

This means while the cases are going up (as a %) the seriousness of these cases (ie those in ICU) - are not.

The best part? In Ab from ages 0-59, there have been only 14 TOTAL deaths in 2020 from C19.

What a complete joke. This is a pandemic???

Your data do not allow you to make this conclusion.

Please show me a) the marked decrease in % cases positive or b) the non-increase in recent % cases.

Is there a falling dagger or a 2nd wave regression uplift formation? Should I buy the 2x bear now?

The problem with historical data is that it's under at least 3 different policies (fully open, fully closed, stage 1/2/3 opened) with variables from not fully closing border with US and on top of potentially 2 different strains.

So there isn't any concrete proof easing any policies will result in any differences. It's easy to say mask does nothing unless you can travel to a parallel universe to see what happens without them. (May be that parallel universe is Russia when even Putin has to mandate masks now).

The only fact we have is how this thing is transmitted, how long it stay active on surfaces and potential impact on some people in the short term. And the guidance is already all there on how to address this but people still choose not to follow them.

Can you imagine if they made mandatory winter tires in Alberta? Same thing really. Omg it infringes upon our rights, what is wrong with all-seasons, etc., even when there is evidence that it works. Same guy is going to be sliding down deerfoot with Covid and get into an accident
The only reason why there is much backlash is because this knowledge has not been clear for very long. Imagine what it was like back in the day when a lot of people thought the earth was flat.

Look back in a few decades how stupid people will appear from 2020, even though masks have been quite normal use over the past decade and more in Asian countries.

If they mandated winter tires here, it might actually save more than 14 lives a year here in the 0-59 age group.

In 2014 there were 369 people killed as a result of vehicle collisions in Alberta.

Where the fuck is the mass media panic about that?

How many of that was because of lack of winter tires?... Also why quote 2014 (which was 328 in the Alberta statistics)?
    2017 had 259 and 2015 had 273 fatal collisions.

Surely we could have saved 14 people - not 144.

Where is the outrage and the fear narrative? STOP DRIVING PEOPLE!!!!!! WE HAVE A CRISIS !!!

Only Japan is a mask wearing culture as courtesy to others. Other Asian countries either hates them or only wear them due to pollution or currently, self preservation.

I don't think it's a bad habit to pick up if we are going to get a nasty Coronavirus every 5 years and working vaccine always lags that by 2 years.

If you can put a speed limit on COVID-19, that would be nice and please share that with the world.
