I'm not sure that's what is keeping you property levels down.
Affordable and down are completely different things. No one wants to be Alberta, ever.

One difference between Alberta and sask, is that people in sask spend time thinking about Alberta, but people in Alberta barely remember that sask exists.
    This hurts man.

Your friends wife's brother in law huh?
My friend is my best friend, and I've met his wife's side of the family numerous times...

I have to say that during this whole pandemic, I've only known 3 cases 1st hand - where they've affected families I've known - none of which have been overly serious. Weird side effects like covid toes and hemorrhoids caused by blood clots.

However my friend, being a brown Punjabi dude with lots of family in the NE, Surry and in India.. well, at first they ALL threw caution to the wind. However as it has perforated throughout his family (Birthday parties, Dawli etc..) he now has a cousin with a 9cm blood clot in a lung - recently biopsied to be benign but affecting his capacity significantly. This example and now with the Uncle (AZ vaccinated Dr.) passing has been a real wakeup call for them and even moreso as they first hand heard from this Uncle prior that this B1617 is far worse than before.

Actually, China is in deep shit when it comes to demographics. They're average age is going in the wrong direction. They've got a demographics bomb slowly ticking.

I’m not sympathetic of rats fleeing that rotten ship.

It's not an emigration thing. They've literally created a situation where they've got this big population that is getting old. They aren't creating enough new Chinese to backfill the average age. It is going to get ugly there over the next few decades.

China basically cheated their way to a big economy through currency manipulation, taking advantage of a giant population, ignoring anything resembling environmental and safety rules, and shamelessly stealing intellectual property.

The collapse will be entertaining (and I assume violent).

You are right that it is going to get ugly over there. I don't think it will be entertaining at all.

They are banging the patriot drum for a reason. The indoctrination of kids has started in Macao. Teachers with opinions in HK are already either fired or in jail. Coming soon to HK.
