Even if it's on your hands, you aren't going to get sick unless you bring it onto your face or something.
The scientist who was recently awarded the government funding to study the virus' effect on Canada said you have a greater chance of dying in a car crash on the way to the airport than contracting this on a plane.
It spreads just like any other flu like virus, and can also be prevented by the same precautions people should be taking during the normal flu season. The problem (IMO anyway) is that nobody listens - you have people bringing their obviously sick kids to daycare (honestly fuck those people), you have people in South Korea told to quarantine but sneaking out to their mega churches anyway. You have people coming into emergency rooms without a mask showing symptoms after being told to stay home, etc. If people just followed extremely basic instructions, I don't think this would be nearly as big of a deal as it is, but obviously that will never happen so here we are haha.
