I am 100% sure the mail carrier is wiping or spraying the local supermailbox. You can tell just by the scent (waterfall Lysol) I use fresh linen because I like to spray my shoes.

The ignorance of Americans is staggering. Even worse than what I endured in Alberta. Being at the epicenter most of my time, it was interesting to see how clusterfucked the Americans are. We will rocket past Chinese cases within 3 to 4 days at this trajectory, despite having a huge head-start.

    2 trillion. Wow.

Looks like the Dems and Reps both got what they wanted. Insane amount of money but they need it.

Isn't @davidI there right now? Heard their medical system is overwhelmed like Italy's too.
Yea, I'm here. Been on lockdown since March 13 and that's been extended until at least April 12. Puts me in a shitty state of limbo as I was in the process of finalizing my residency and they've stopped all government services for that so now I'm in a state of flux - particularly for trying to finish opening a brokerage account to take advantage of this wild market!!

I have some mild possible symptoms of WuFlu (scratchy throat, dry cough, a little difficulty breathing (like being dropped at 4000M), muscle aches, and fatigue). No fever which is good but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it's the Beer Flu as my girlfriend's co-teacher apparently ended up in a hospital with pneumonia (which they now figure was probably Covid) a few weeks ago.

They're only testing people with severe symptoms so I just need to rest and try to recover. In some ways, I hope I've caught a mild form just so I can get it over with. I'd like to get my hands on a test to know for sure but no point in stressing their medical system more unless it gets serious...

This will be interesting because the bill specifically says that trumps family businesses cannot benefit from the money in this bill

If the numbers represented for Spain are only severe symptoms cases I wonder how many there are that are asymptomatic or mild cases

JR Shaw just passed. No idea if related, and probably deserves a separate thread.

Brought us from the one channel cable to 27 channel cable. How easily people forget that we only had three broadcast television stations for decades.

What you mean by the time humans know it's a pandemic it's already started being mostly a pandemic?

Did someone tell Imperial about this?

I'm curious about those billions successive governments have spent on epidemic/pandemic control and research since SARS. I mean it's a budgetary line item FFS and - honestly they're winging it. It doesn't appear there's any plan or cohesive response in place.

Got kicked out of the local covid group for calling the MLM mom's out on being stupid for demanding everyone not leave the house. Funny how their kids are all able to play fortnite 24/7 without issues

This is what gets me too. I get it, this thing is developing by the minute. But it's not like CDC and other organizations haven't been planning this out to a T for when the next pandemic broke out. Yet here we are, and it's complete anarchy in the government, like nobody has any idea what to do.

@baygirl mentioned seeing that the quarantine time for Covid-19 is now 10 days instead of 14. Not sure if this is true, but trying to find corroborating facts and sources.
From what I understood, the point of original 2 week quarantine is that's how long it takes to get 2 negative test results back. You're only asymptomatic for like 4 days, so if you have no symptoms by then you should be fine to stop self isolating.

Getting 4 amazon packages this week, 3 of which came yesterday... all of them ordered Sunday. Do you guys not have prime?
More than likely Amazon is playing it safe with their advertised delivery guarantee dates. I'm sure things are showing at normal time frames of 2 days, but they don't want things to change over night and be on the hook for your delivery being late.

What I don't understand, is why are these people flown into Montreal and just let off? Any of these re-repatriation flights should require 14 days at Club Trenton, infected or not. Bill the the costs for the stay, which was around $40/night last time I stayed at the Yukon lodge.
Didn't you listen to Kert? Doesn't matter if they do everything or nothing. Results will be the same for spread

US males largely "not worried" about it. Same with Iran males. I guess its because you live in a culture where your everyone and your neighbor probably has 2,000 rounds of ammo and can just decide to go on a rampage. Fear of death becomes lessened, and therefore - you become lax to safety precautions.

What?! Your forward thinking utopia isn't perfect?! You had to slither your worthless belly back here to take another jab at the place and people you hate? Poor little fella, will anyone even be able to climb his ivory tower? So ronery, forever alooooone, trapped in a fortress of impenetrable intellect

Just based on anecdotal evidence from Spain as to the number of friends/family who have shown potential system, I suspect this study may be correct:

As expected, the last place you want to be in an outbreak is the middle of the ocean - because no one will let you port back in. Billionaire yachts to avoid the apocalypse = exactly the wrong idea. Expect fire sales on yachts soon.
