Copay fees on costly public services aren't the same as taxes.

That’s a shame, it would have been nice to give people what they want, keep them suspended and let it run with an even bigger staffing shortage for a while. Make the proponents of firing healthcare staff beg for the government to reverse course

Those who have time off over the holidays should just get Omicron lol It's gonna be mild, you are at home anyway and you'll have antibodies after. If the entire NHL did that, there will be no more Covid protocols when they come back. Right. Right.

The symptoms sound just like the common cold...has the common cold gone instinct since Covid? Wild times! Lets go crypto!

BBC says omicron milder and less likely to send you to the hospital. Reasons may be complex.

Still better for each individual to avoid catching this variant, and probably very worthwhile getting a booster shot, but encouraging news all around.

Gyms in Kamloops defying nonsense closure orders and over 30 in province are preparing class action lawsuits.

    https://www.kamloopsthisweek.com/loc...-close-4897678

They’re [public health] recognizing that you can go eat deep-fried pickles and get sloshed in a pub on cheap draft and that’s essential, but the person who has been 20 years in AA and uses a fitness facility to keep their head straight, they’re not recognizing that,” Grover said.

The pair pointed to contradictions in public health orders. Maywood questioned why malls will be allowed to remain open on Boxing Day, with people shoulder to shoulder looking for bargains. Grover pointed to thousands of cheering fans attending hockey games in large arenas and questioned why government cannabis and liquor stores remain open.
At this point governments can fuck themselves and their selective categories of what’s deemed essential.

Well at least my flames tickets are being refunded, going to assume they'll select 50% capacity from season ticket holders

Getting to be pretty obvious that Omicron is less deadly for each individual infection but the rate of growth is pretty staggering. Two days ago Ontario hit 4,300 cases which was just shy of their all time record set back in April. Then yesterday they hit 5,800 and today was 9,500 cases. Doubling their all time previous high number of cases in just two days.

Quebec was very much the same. Dec 20th was 4,500 cases (all time high) and then Dec 23rd was 9,400 cases.

It's great that Omicron is looking less deadly but if we start hitting 5 or 10x our previous highs of cases then being '70%' less deadly isn't going to amount for much. I am curious what's going to happen in care homes and ICU wards. Are we going to see lots of reinfections spreading through again? What happens to our ICU if half the staff has to isolate all at once? Or what happens if all of a carehomes workers catch it and isolate for 10 days and there isn't enough people to cover shifts. I think that's why we are seeing places look back at restrictions and/or changes to our current situation.

E e'ryone is going to catch it. That's not ideal, but I'm not too fussed.

Well, I'd prefer if everyone except me caught it. Ya know?

Shits going to be bumpy, but this fast transmission may be a blessing longer term. Vax+vax+recovered+vax shoukd be a pretty strong combo. Most of us should have that soon.

The only piece of data that matters right now is the number of vaccinated people that need ICU.

    That's it. That's all.

The more people who test positive after DP/TP, the quicker everyone will realize it's no longer a big deal and and quicker we'll get back to real normalcy. I no longer see an alternative to an actual end to this.
