Hmm, seems like the downward trend is flattening. My predictions are in jeopardy.

I was going to post that hospitalization went up by 14 month breathers yesterday…

We need some epic death rate to hit the numbers

Yeah, if some of the long-term criticals died, from a statistical and health care capacity perspective, that helps the numbers.

Sometime in the next month or two we are going to get the new anti viral meds, which should push hospital rates down to almost nothing.

Mine too. I made my prediction around mid October, where I felt that we would be next to nothing inside 3 weeks. That was almost exactly before the tapering of the downward trend started.

370 cases per day (7 day average) province-wide really isn't bad. By all rights, at this level it's bordering on somewhat insignificant in a province with four and a half million people. At least, insignificant if it wasn't for the fact that if we let our guard down that it would grow exponentially as we've seen over and over again already. But still, that's less than a .001% chance daily of getting it on an individual basis. I wonder if the count is as accurate as it once was, or if people are getting so used to living with Covid in our lives they are just staying home when they catch it and not even adding themselves to the number.

For what it's worth, last week we had 4 kids from our 15-child hockey team catch it. So from an anecdotal perspective, I'm just not seeing that .001%.

I think the anecdotes are unfortunately not informative.

So what you are saying… is Covid has a built in clock.

Whoever designed this virus knew what they were doing!

The double dose is expiring. My younger sister actually got her 3rd dose already. Don't know how, got on a list and they called her and hubby in.

I don't think that's got anything to do with hospitalization trends. But I could be wrong.

“What we’re starting to see now is an uptick in hospitalizations among people who’ve been vaccinated but not boosted,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease, said Tuesday in an interview. “It’s a significant proportion, but not the majority by any means.”
Good thing Israel and US got 3 months ahead of us to give us the data. They are seeing waning effect of double dose. So for us, it's about time that starts to shows up.

My uncle and aunt in Virginia just got their 3rd dose as well.
