Meanwhile in Ontario you can’t be outside aside from in little circles the government tells you you can be in. That’s embarrassing.

I get that our per capita stats haven’t been great. But we have been far more free and open that most of Canada for it.

I heard my relatives in the maritimes complaining that people walking down their street were too close together this morning. Wow.

I’ll take our pandemic response over what is happening in the east every day of the week.

Reactions like this is why parts of Canada will lag behind reopening. Martimers don't realise that Canada stops at the eastern border of Quebec.

More good news is a major drop in active cases yesterday. We peaked at just over 25k, and we’re at 23.5 yesterday.

Down 1500 in just a few days. Positivity rate is dropping quick too, around 10 from 13.

    It’s working, it’s working!

Disclaimer: numbers are by memory. Feel free to post graphs

Yet here we are, balls deep in the "age of information" and those fat, sweaty, stupid, fish mongering, pogey stealing, nut-sacks think that we are piling bodies in the streets.

    We aren’t?!

Lol. Friend of a friend transfer to Brooklyn for work two years ago. Last year he said, don’t believe the news. Yes people are dying in New York, but the media shows the absolute worst pin point in time. He said it wasn’t that bad overall and most people kept on living.

When stampede hits, if we get a spike and they do a lockdown, I can see every business saying eff you!! I'm open like the stampede.

Really don't know why stampede is a thing still.
Best thing covid did was keep this place regressing for 10 days.

Numbers are coming down hard, we’ll be fine. The spike won’t fully occur until winter again.

All the riots and outdoor shenanigans didn’t cause spikes - or did they?! It’s too political to ever know.

We are fine, numbers are dropping, and will drop.

Have they stopped reporting R value? That used to be important.

A guy at work is from NS and was telling me about the craziness over there. I had to ask him if they have internet or cable TV on that side of the country.

Nope. Still super important, I’d say the next one will be out Monday or Tuesday.

R values from May 3 to May 9 (confidence interval)
    Alberta provincewide: 1.00 (0.99-1.02)
    Edmonton Zone: 0.96 (0.93-1.00)
    Calgary Zone: 1.06 (1.04-1.09)
    Rest of Alberta: 0.94 (0.91-0.97)

    That’s from the AB site.
