CBE requiring masks in school, all staff and K to 12 regardless of vaccination status.

I really DGAF about Covid in schools, but I do look forward to another few months of being relatively cold and flu free.

    Predictions for next lockdown?

680 cases today, and hospitalizations are coming up. We’re 100 ICU cases away from uh-oh

Something to do with Liberal, Federal party handing out more money.
Maybe to offset PPE cost or some other made up Freeland vote buying concoction.

this. Lockdown is a stupid response to people who refuse to get vaccinated.

I'm of the same mind. Although I'm a bit delayed - I want the kids vaccinated.

Any study’s showing specific dangers of covid to kids? Last I saw they had a higher chance of dying from the flu, but could be old data.

I have a preference for kids getting vaccinated, but don't see any reason to relate that to increasing or decreasing restrictions.

I'm okay with restrictions in schools to prevent transmission there.

Fair enough. I don't care much about what happens in schools as long as they stay open and my kids have childcare.

I don’t wholly disagree, I guess the question is - are there enough unvaccinated and the few breakthrough ICUs that can overwhelm the system?

Because vaccine or not, if we get to that point - we’re locked down.

I don’t think the government has the balls to use tents/temporary ICUs at this stage in the game.

Not a lot of deaths but hospitalizations up with the delta surge. Currently 1900 kids hospitalized in the US from covid.

Presumably some of them will have “long covid” after they recover.

Considering we haven’t had a single person under 20 die of Covid in Alberta.

I’d say pretty much anything has a higher risk of death, statistically speaking.

Eesh. The South is at or close to ICU capacity in a lot of counties.

Death by meteor is a thing.

Not necessarily being hit by one, but being blinded by the flash while doing something like driving at night.

Not sure if anyone is expecting a different outcome given vaccination rate of those counties.

Looks like land border is staying close for another 30 days.
