Nova Scotia premier Stephen McNeil FTW.
We need Kenney to do the same announcement on blatant disregard.

Canadians or paper Canadians who don't live in Canada but use their status to leech off the country resources?
Given the travellers who have been the source of infections, we don't need to worry that much about 'paper Canadians' (do we ever really need to aside from trying to shift blame away from things that actually make a significant difference to make the xenophobes happy?).

Your border plan would not have stopped the spread of covid-19 in this country, as much as you want to get mad at Trudeau for it. The main vector of infection was Canadians (real, 'proper' Canadians) returning from travel from countries other than China.

Tourism industry would get killed regardless.
Same would go for the O&G folks, so I guess we don't need to worry too much about the economic impacts of these decisions, do we?

Why is SK, a province with many similarities to our own, is still allowing daycares to operate?

Tweet from Senator Rand Paul, "ASYMPTOMATIC" that's why it's spreading so fast.... stay home people and be super careful when you do go out.

Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for COVID-19. He is feeling fine and is in quarantine. He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person.

    They are royally fucked.

So strange, considering according to Trump, the government's response has been a 10/10.

One of my friends in his early 40s in Edmonton had symptoms starting Friday so he self isolated in his basement. Now he’s hospitalized and struggling to breathe he’s got to wait 72 hours for his test results. No underlying health conditions present

Yeah and WHO said things were fine and dandy a month ago.
This is the problem with ignorance, people can't distinguish between what the science and data illustrate, versus what some of the science/health authorities are saying.

The WHO does point to some great science, they also have made some incredibly harmful, ignorant, and dumb statements that aren't backed by the science.

They're political organization as much as they are a scientific one. Blindly parroting whatever they say, is in large part why this got out of hand the way it did.

I am so sorry to hear that. When he gets better, do you mind asking him how many push-ups, chin-ups, and shuttle runs he could do?

Well I sure hope that when this crazy shit show of a virus is in the past, all those people who are losing their shit shaming small local businesses into closing because “the need of the community is more important than money and bankruptcy” and forcing them to close, even the ones that are taking extreme action and are doing everything they can to keep serving the community as safely as is humanly possible, remember their own words and start supporting these small local businesses even though they might be a few bucks more than buying online, which sends your money outside your local communities, and I also hope to remind you employs the majority of people around you and spends any profits locally and keeps the fragile economy turning. I sure hope all these people do what is best for their communities rather than just selfishly thinking about what is best for their bottom dollars like many of us responsible small businesses are being accused of...

Hopefully one small positive that will come out of this is that people start to realize what “community” actually means.

    Sorry for the mini rant!

Totally agree with you. My business facebook page was recently bombarded with these crazy individual's bad review with "Stayathome" tags because my business was open.

That's overboard. There's a way to run a responsible business. For instance, some businesses are limiting the amount of people in the stores, sanitizing the machines after every use, etc.

Thats exactly whats going on. The major leaders and organizations appear clueless and highly politically and optically motivated.

Reacting to things, instead of thinking ahead and making the tough decisions early on.

In that case, the shaming is completely unwarranted.

That's the problem with this age group though, how many of its around this age actually know if we have any underlying conditions or not?! I sure don't... I'm not a smoker but technically I am, I take 3-4 puffs of my weed pipe every night, my mother, never smoked a day in her life, died of lung cancer, I'd imagine if your in your 20s you just think you're invincible but once you get near 40 like me, you start to wonder....

Take the Vladimir Putin approach... you choose. 14 days in quarantine in your home, or 5 years in Siberian prison.
