Isn't it safe to say there's always going to be new variants at this point? When do you pull the plug and let things play out.
When you admit that you hate old people, and fat people, and sick people, and people who might be sick but not know it yet, and immuno-compromised people and natural selection and poor people and probably minorities too because you're also racist.

The pandemic is far from over, and you’ll see it rear its ugly head again in the fall. A couple of months ago I figured that with a good vaccination drive, things will come back to some kind of a “normal”, but I just don’t see that happening anymore. I hope I'm wrong.

A lot of people have found comfort in the pandemic. A lot of people have been paid to basically do nothing in the pandemic. A lot of people have been scared shitless by a years’ worth of bombardment from the media. All of this doesn’t just go away…
    lolwut

Do you not know anyone who lives in the US? If they're a leading indicator (in my opinion they are), we're definitely going back to normal. All my family in the states are leading normal lives now, with a bit more WFH than before. Weddings, dinners out, etc etc... all normal.

Is it your opinion that the vaccine will cease to be effective in the fall or something?

The pandemic will be over, guaranteed. Covid, fear mongering, mental and physical health issues, and death will still happen. But it won't be a "pandemic" anymore.

We just need something more headline grabbing to usurp Covid shit day after day. Like another proxy war somewhere.

There have been hundreds of variants. I have no idea why these ones keep getting highlighted - oh wait, I do, it's FEAR.
All that matters is the outcome data.

If the Variants were a problem, then we would be seeing more covid deaths than deaths by choking on cock.

I do not believe it should be called a pandemic at this point.

Reddit going to be salty today haha. No more media updates after June 29 unless critical, no more numbers updates on weekends, Hinshaw telling people they need to start learning to live without government restrictions and make their own choices

I’m working with a lot of people in Ontario in my new job and it’s shocking to see how jealous people are our re opening plans. I was totally expecting people to be critical of it. Based on the small anecdote I think Ford is gonna have a major challenge getting re elected.

Same on reddit. They are questioning hard why ON is not opening up like western provinces and Ford's reopening plan has no end date/stage.

Same, all my TO-based colleagues are very jealous of us.

Also, my relatives in ON basically say our AHS experience here (service, vaccine, testing) is far superior to GTA. That may explain why they don't have end dates on their plan.
