It's also people above and beyond the regular number, since those 4,000 suicides are what's expected to happen anyway.

Right now Canada's suicide rate is 11.4/1000 people. So it's the rise from that average that would have to be compared to whatever Covid-19 mortality rate we're seeing.

Even if we cut the WHO's mortality rate assessment in half from their March 3 estimate, Covid will kill more people than suicide. That risk significantly rises as the healthcare system becomes more saturated limiting care of more serious cases (which is the whole point of 'flattening the curve').
Don't you dare interrupt this very important genocidal, eugenics, planning committee session.

At times like these I can only implore the Committee to ask themselves one question:

That is unauthorized merchandise. Dr Hindshaw is currently recharging and re-calibrating her algorithms, thus will not be commenting on this. This process will take the entire weekend.

That’s not what I got from his message. I think he is saying, fine, I’ll take a huge hit for my community, but I hope they don’t forget to return the favor and also support the community when things are back to normal.

Or will that all go out the window and they’ll just order from tirerack or Amazon.
Thanks for that google. This is exactly what I mean. I made the post because I am seeing all sorts of public shaming of companies who are trying to stay above water and keep their people working and taking all relevant precautions to do so, and the shakers are basing their arguments on the good of the community, so I feel they should also consider the good of their communities when it is time to build back up everything that has crashed around us.

Most of us small business owners are far from wealthy, myself included. I live on a lot less than probably most of you here and would personally make a lot more money working for one of the big corps, but I am not complaining at all. I do it because I like being able to help others without maximum profits being my driving force. I do it because I like growing and mentoring the people around me in a more rewarding way than simply collecting a paycheque and going home. I like to know I am affecting and helping the people as much as I can, all clients, employees and up channel included. In short I do think we do a lot more for our communities as small businesses than most people see and acknowledge, but that is okay. The ones that get it, get it. The ones that don’t, well I still try my best and hope they see it eventually. It sure is hell not about “getting rich” as was indicated by someone in a post above. If it was I would not have gone into the business I am in and I sure as hell would not do it the way I do it if that was what concerned me. I am not surprised when people think this way, but I can freely admit I can get a bit snippy about it. I never try to judge individuals too harshly though and can get over those feeling quickly.

Fact of the matter is maybe my business ideals are wrong when trying to financially survive moving forward in this world and if they are, I will fail and close and it will be what it is, but if the alternative means turning into what a lot of these modern companies are and becoming something I do not respect, then so be it. I will take my lumps and accept responsibility for my businesses failure. I do think though if people could actually see what the repercussions of loosing us all would actually be to the communities, they might feel differently. Sadly I think for the most part it will be too late when many finally get there.

I interpreted.the same as Kg based on earlier posts, even though I have met him and he seems like a great guy.

We are all in the same boat with restricted income. People will buy from the best service and quality at the lowest cost.
You are right in that people will throw what is best for their community aside when it affects their personal bottom dollar... I was simply pointing out that everyone is greedy to a degree and each side just points the finger and says “bad” or “good” when in reality there is both bad and good in all of it and that most people get directed to action by their feels or greed rather than reality. You all seem to think you have me pegged when you really don’t. Just because uncomfortable truths, philosophical or otherwise, exist in this mess and talking about them is needed, it doesn’t make me bad. It has helped me learn a lot about what is happening and how people are. I think one thing you would learn about me is I always play devils advocate as a course of discovery and I am always willing to accept I am wrong when I am shown so. You might think I side one way or the other but you would probably be wrong more often than you are right. I rather prefer that because it keeps thinking alive. You only grow when you take in all sides and the people that just stand there and scream and argue one side without taking it all in tend to stay pretty stagnant. My mind can go off in many directions when considering a topic or whatever, but my actions are still what I would hope most people judge me on.

That's a great point. You should just proactively kill them and get the V shaped recovery that we are all hoping for. Right?
Let's all do IQ tests and kill off anyone who scores under 100. Only the strongest and smartest survives.
Yeah lets bring IQ into this.

EQ and deadlifts then? I am simply offering constructive criticism for the genocidal planning committee. The committee needs structure, which is a common reason why many start-ups fail.

You just have to be strong enough to unscrew the top of a bottle of water and you should be ok. That is not agiven however, if you get hit hard.

If you have troubles opening a jar of pickels as is now, you might want to invest $1 in a rubber grip that makes it easier to open bottles. Noone ever thinks its going to happen to them, until it does.

That's cheating. Have you ever seen someone use a scooter at an NFL combine?

    Ok here is my proposal.

    1. People who are immunocomprimised or over 65 yrs of age continue to shelter in place.
    2. Those who can easily work from home continue to do so, provided it doesnt impact productivity.
    3. All others return to normal, however, good hygene is still promoted.
    4. Implement wide scale surveillance testing via swabs, drive thru swabs, swab, swab, swab
    5. Anyone positive on a swab is instructed to self-isolate immediately.
    6. Positive swabs are also immediately prescribed a chloroquine and antibiotic combo to help fight the infection
    7. Pharm combo clears infection in 4-6 days
    8. Those that deteriorate go to hospital as normal

    ...

    12. Profit???

When you trip the explosive implant that’s installed after a positive result when sneaking out of self-isolation

I don't have any personal interest in this, I can sit home indefinitely and still collect 100% of my pay while everyone around me dies a slow death financially. But lets just keep the current status quo, Alberta and more so the rest of Canada, will be economically fucked and inflation with skyrocket. At least the majority of the population did their part and stayed home just to keep the tiny minority of society alive for a few more years. Maybe people will wake the fuck up and take their health more seriously at the end of this. We pour so many resources into our medical system because people just don't give a shit about their own health. Smoking, no exercise, terrible diets all contribute to deficiencies to immune systems and your chances of recovery from this virus, or any disease for that matter, drop dramatically. I refuse to pour more money into a system that helps people that don't help themselves.

How do you stop people from getting older? I am so confused. Do you want to be president of the committee or not?

India isn’t testing. India’s shutdown is going to hurt, nobody is prepared, and so many companies are relying on India’s workforce. Even though we took a proactive approach and got everyone home well before shit went down, we still have challenges because it rained yesterday lol. Rainy season is just starting and we have people with no power for hours whenever it rains. Laptops are so backordered because of China as well that nobody can buy one. That’s just the work aspects of it.

On the people side, everyone is still going out, and everyone lives with the elderly. So many people sick all the time there. Good luck. Only a few cities have shut down. At least domestic flights are finally restricted. Then there’s the Paid guest rentals. They’re starting to kick people out.
Surprisingly Dell was able to deliver 200 to us in the next week or 2. Although has not gone thru the door yet so I'll believe it when I see it.

I wish they would do that here! I only get 100gig a month on rural satellite internet and Netflix sucks all my available data quickly. This would give me more shows to watch.

I'm sure Netlfix app on most platforms will let you switch from auto to low. This is the difference between 0.3GB/hr vs 7GB/hr.
