Sarcastic? I'd be more distraught if his brother caught it, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Nope, because those two are close (at least based on what TV has shown me).

honestly the US along with the rest of the world should sue them somehow. Germany paid reparations after WW2 for fucking everything up, why shouldn't China?

and if they don't agree to it then just don't pay debt to them, problem solved. good luck trying to collect against the strongest military.
Germany actually paid reparations following WWI and the hardship they caused Germany is one of the key reasons Hitler was able to rise to power leading to WWII.

Almost all of the strongly affected countries around the world have enacted strict laws against slipping out of self-isolation. From North Korea shooting a guy, Singapore revoking passports, to fines and imprisonment.
I saw a video in India the police are beating people in the streets with bamboo to encourage them to stay home

This might have been one of the most informative briefings weve seen so far. The slideshow is informative. Well worth watching it and the Q&A that follows

Trumps message right now "for whatever reason NY got off to a very late start" if that isnt a big FUCK YOU to the governor of NY I dont know what is, Trump is reason their whole country got off to a late start by downplaying this entire thing because of the economy.

I cant imagine the US having full mitigation unless they had a full lock down

Too bad Cuomo has no plans to run for pres. He potentially has a shot to take him out considering the good job he is doing for NY. Imagine if he was handling this federally. Wow what a difference it would be. Makes Trump look even worse.

Spain paid nothing for the Spanish flu. Which arguably didn't even originate in Spain, its just that Spain has always had a very large ocean transport fleet and large port cities - which is of course where the majority of early cases showed up.

To assume China is the source of this virus is pure guesswork. If engineered, its highly unlikely a country would release it in their own country first (unless it was an accident, which does happen) If not engineered, then you have to classify it as naturally occurring, which means no one is at fault other than a very angry mother nature.

Spanish flu was natural because the technology did not exist at the time to engineer it. If its any consolation, regular flu seems to mutate every year or so whereas early guesswork has Corona mutating every decade or so. The next strain of Corona will probably originate in a completely random spot somewhere on the planet.

China may get it again, just for the idea that the virus needs humans to propogate - and by pure statistic the densest population is where it "should" come from. If the next mutation happens in Antarctica in the belly of a penguin instead of a bat - then it will probably never become a problem.

I'm sure someone knows if this was engineered. In which case - its a safe bet that it was set off in China.. Which is a nasty road to go down, but lets not forget that McCain did 22 bombing runs and was heavily rewarded for it.

Trumps is a supreme fucking idiot. So is Kenney as well. Fucking gutting healthcare in the middle of a pandemic.

To be fair, NYs mayor was to blame just as much, if not more than Trump.

So short sighted. Cuomo is more corrupt than Trump with a dirtier laundry list of shit. Today’s headline he looks great because he seized the opportunity to be hard up vocal and everyone all of a sudden forgot about all the shit and criticisms he’s been involved in. You’re right tho, in today’s headline culture, he would do great running for prez.

Google it and enjoy the rabbit hole haha.

to be clear, my criticism and blame is of the way they handled it (trying to cover it up until it was way too late to contain). Not necessarily how the wet markets allowed it to proliferate, although that is a problem too.

If they involved the WHO and other world experts back in December when it was first discovered, it could have been contained. Instead, they pretend like nothing happened and allow 5+ million wuhanese to travel for chinese NY in January to spread this thing around the world. But hey, let's just pretend like Chinese regime did the right things here from the beginning

I'm actually pretty impressed with the way China handles things for this particular case. Authoritarian regimes means that even though they were earliest - they also are nowhere near USA type infection and transmission.

If the USA had got this first and its religious zealotry toward freedom "You can't tell me what to do" the entire world would be in much more pain right now.
