For all the money we are spending my vote is send in the military to take over the care homes.

The staff are the problem, so get rid of the staff. They can go staff the covid tents instead.
Because, apparently, "hard workers" will solve the problem? Does the military really have the training required to properly care for the elderly in long-term care homes? The military is good for a lot of things, but giving old people baths likely isn't one of them. And, of course, there are more than just health care staff--admin, food services, housekeeping.

So the staff are bringing COVID into nursing homes because we aren’t paying them enough? Or because they aren’t protected by a union?

Sounds to me like staff are a problem. And I am proposing a solution.

But yea ucp ucp ucp blah blah blah.

You are the one who is blinded by the fact that employees in care homes are clearly being careless and are a significant source of spread in these homes, because you are sleeping with one of them or something.

These care homes clearly need discipline and to be locked down tighter than a nuns cunt. And the existing workers seem incapable of doing that as of yet jusging by the demographics who are dieing daily.

But boo hoo the ucp ruined everything. If only we spent Notley levels of money on the problem everyone would be safe!

We're spending more than Notley levels. Notley's last budget spent $56.2B, the UCP have beaten and budgeted past that number twice already ($56.8B and $58.7B).

With another $100M towards health care workers, the feds would chip in $300M, so there's that.

I can only imagine what the spending would be like if Notley was in.

Can we go back to arguing about masks, vaccinations and shopping? That seemed less toxic.

Well they would have spent the $100M to get the 300% return to pay healthcare and essential workers, actually getting money back from the feds for once.

If we have a giant down-tick in seasonal colds and flus from the masking, isolations, and other mass prevention methods, yet C19 cases are growing like a weed - its getting through another vector and all of this was for naught.

Plus $1 billion in art and drama classes for the unemployed. Not necessarily a net gain for the taxpayer.

What Kert considers to be a “return” is legitimately scary.

Taking from Peter to pay Paul is always a sound strategy.

The lack of a prevalent seasonal flu is actually primarily from a lack of travel, there's no vector for it to travel here from down south, like it typically would.

For a province that incessantly whines about being Peter all the time, giving up the chance to be Paul for a day is just fucking stupid.

If Alberta put $100M into Albertan wages, the federal government would put in $300M to Albertan wages. Otherwise that money is going somewhere else.

Hint. Peter and Paul are the same person.

And as we know, all taxpayers from all provinces pay the same and get the same back.

Never took you as a staunch federalist.

I never took you for one to try and deprive the frenchies of tax advantages.

Either way we aren’t going to spend our way into fiscal responsibility, no matter what the manifesto ordains.
