It wouldn't suprise me if large percentages of the population everywhere have already had the virus. Which would actually be good news in terms of getting it under control and slowly reopening everything.

"Let’s dispel the myth that coronavirus victims were all at death’s door 10 April 2020"
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/...t-death-s-door
The first thing that jumps out from the medical history section of Table 1 in the report (below) is that 93 per cent of those critically ill with Covid-19 were 'able to live without assistance in daily activities' prior to developing the disease. That typically suggests reasonable health in these people.
Secondly, just seven per cent of 2,124 intensive care admissions had 'very severe comorbidities'. That’s significantly less than typical viral pneumonia patients (as illustrated in the table above). So 19 out of 20 were free of the most severe life-limiting conditions before they were struck down with coronavirus.
Lastly, for now, the age distribution is also striking. Most critical cases, as shown in the chart below, are aged between 50 and 80. People of this age, without severe comorbidities, could reasonably have expected to have years of life ahead of them before they contracted this disease.

It would actually surprise me if this WASN'T true. I believe the reported numbers from various countries are grossly under-reported. Even here in Canada if you have symptoms, you are simply asked to stay at home until you can't breathe. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Combine that with other countries (China, North Korea as example) who are purposely underreporting their numbers, areas which don't have medical care and people are simply dealing with it, areas which don't have the technology or authorities to report to, lack of testing worldwide, and I would imagine the actual cases are way, way higher.

Anyone in Calgary with symptoms can get tested now. So we'll see how things pan out in the next few days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Now I'm wondering if I've already had it. I had a bad cold at the end of February. Didn't get a fever though. I work for a major airline with a large international network FWIW.
If they do the serology tests for anybody in the future I'd like to get tested.
Yes, that’s going to be Interesting. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
What’s the turnaround rate for the tests. Anyone know?

I heard about 2-3 days.

Most people say you get results about 2 days after doing the test give or take. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
However the self assessment to getting a call to getting a test booked is the longer wait time. I think typically they'll call you the next day but no idea how long to book the test. Especially with the rush of people getting added to testing with the new criteria. Dr. Hindshaws said 6k people filled out the assessment in the past 24hrs which is more than our capacity (I think still 4k a day)
Yeah, it was - before they let every fucking rim job with the sniffles get tested. Now critical health care workers and patients will get stuck with a longer wait. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I am not a fan of this.
They need to figure out what demographics in Calgary are skewing the numbers and deal with that. But even a pandemic can't trumps feels when it comes to falsely perceiving something as racist.

We still have a 4K turnaround per day. I see. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So likely Monday April 20th will be a big day.

I’m doing great. I can sit home forever, collect my pay and it’s all pensionable time. It’s pretty ironic that I’m so against these current lockdown measures when really, it doesn’t affect me financially whatsoever, hell I save even more now by not going out as much. I’m worried about business like tirebob going under because we have to save a bunch of old folk in homes. A privately run seniors’ residence in Dorval that is grappling with an outbreak of COVID-19 cases has been described as a “concentration camp” — with unfed and soiled elderly residents inside — by health professionals who came to their rescue, a Montreal Gazette investigation has found.
