Just watching the Trump press conference. They are talking about restarting their economy in a few weeks to a months time. This seems to go against what Canada is doing, so it will be interesting to see the differences.
Yeah, I don't think they're being realistic by any means. Downplaying the situation. They also have their "15 days to slow the spread" campaign, signalling they're almost halfway through stopping the spread.

Check out Taiwan's approach. Seems to work fine for them

My sister lives in Taiwan and said the fine for breaking quarantine was equivalent to a years salary at an average job.

The U.S. has more than double the rate of traffic related deaths than the G8 average, which is notable on it's own but particularly if it's going to be used as a way to downplay the risk of Covid-19 related deaths. Italy already has nearly double the number of Covid deaths than traffic related deaths (but would still have room to grow if they had the U.S. rate of traffic deaths).

With people staying home, some of them, it actually reduces traffic related deaths so the overall death rate is actually decreasing in the US. Covid deaths need to ramp up significantly to match last years numbers.

Those are last years numbers (well, last year the data was compiled).

Dick Pound has been around for a while. He's great. Him and Dick Herr should hang out.

I think Dick Pound helped investigate Ben (The Cheetah) Johnson.

Well, it is going to be a lot easier to support local now. I went to buy some vaccume sealer rolls off Amazon, Prime delivery date on everything I checked is now "Get is Monday, April 20th". Yes, a month away....

They are blaming Covid-19, but, if you pay $3.99, you can have it Thursday.

After reading this I ordered some aquarium filters. Shows delivery in 2 days and will probably arrive early, as usual.

I noticed most stuff on amazon was April 20 delivery. Didn't like that so looked around until I found something with free fast delivery.
Amazon's value proposition is pretty weak with 1 month deliveries.
Will be interesting to see if they sort that out.

Instead of congregating at restaurants and restaurants, we're all congregating at Costco, Walmart and grocery stores. People are still ignoring social distancing inside.

People coming back from trips are going to the grocery store first. Thanks assholes.
