Iceland or Greenland? Greenland is always the last to be infected in virtually all the games I play. China - no problem. They can't cover up their numbers in the game... only real life.
It is concerning how much toilet paper 2 adults and 2 toddlers are going through. Im going to look like a hoarder when i have to resupply here.

Given the way some of the spring breakers talked to the media...I literally don't think they could care less, in their minds they're probably thinking about their inheritance. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Are the stores still out of TP? (Walmart is limiting purchases)
The stores that I have been to have been well stocked, proving once and for all that the Charmin Bear is behind this uncalled for mass hysteria. I hid a 30 roller behind the frozen peas at Walmart in case they are out by the time you get there. Always looking out for you fam. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Numbers are in for Norway (lockdown) vs Sweden (business as usual)
Unsurprisingly, the spread of the virus is also estimated to be among the highest in Sweden (3.1% of the population infected) and lowest in Norway (0.41% of the population), likely reflecting the radically different containment strategies.http://theconversation.com/coronavir...ategies-135344by April 1, COVID-19 deaths in Sweden accounted for 24 per million citizens, whereas in Norway it was only eight deaths per million.
Alberta death rate as of Apr 4th is 5.2/M

Half our deaths are at the McKenzie Towne facility too. Which should be a clear lesson how careful we need to be. One infection can lead to a outbreak and numerous deaths if it reaches a high risk group. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thank you so much for recognizing this. That place is going to be a blood bath and it's a tragedy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There are so, so many similar places that need protection and we are all doing our best to save those lives, even though the cost is horrific.
I'm curious to see why Sweden has taken this approach knowing the lethality of this virus for high risk groups. Do they accept the risks and go on business as usual? Will their minds change after more people start dying or from public pressure? The next week will tell the tale. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Given that Canada has almost 2.5x the number of confirmed cases but only 2/3rds the deaths things are looking pretty grim for Sweden. It's pretty obvious it's a lot more spread than their numbers show. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Basically the same point has brought up by you and others in this thread. Let the infection thru, take whoever it may and save the economy. Their prediction is that we ain't stopping this thing so may as well see if they can control speed of infection without lock down. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Now this week has brought in more restriction that last. And as more numbers come in they may still flip like UK which had adopted the same stance in the beginning too.
But numbers dont lie and those will put pressure on their government soon.
Tldr, UK and Netherland both tried the same thing but death count made them abandon it and go back to lockdown.

Japan is taking a similar stance as Sweden, not in lockdown and their death rate is only 0.7/million.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I like neat cars.
Hard to say why, but in all rational thought, if we do accept that science says we are all going to get this in the end, maybe they are just taking the approach that rather than drag it out slowly, they are simply getting it over with at a faster rate and not sacrificing their economy over the same inevitable result? Not sure really but that could explain their logic. I don’t think they are denying the virus. Just a different idea on how to best deal with the inevitable maybe? Right or wrong, we won’t know the true results until the virus has finally run its course. Will it be more deaths early and faster than how we deal with it but everything evening out long term or will it just be more overall? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. One of the biggest curveballs of the article is this
The culture is already engrained there vs. what we’re doing here. The fact this thread exists shows why Canada shouldn’t follow Sweden. It’s not engrained in our heads yet.Nevertheless, Sweden has a high number of people living in single households, and citizens are generally respectful of public health advice and guidelines.
You can’t compare us to Sweden or Japan because we are culturally different.

Keep the doors open, and you’ll quickly find that medical services are exhausted and significantly more deaths will occur due to over saturation.
We have a choice, quarantine now, try and control the situation and the economy will suffer.
No quarantine, significantly more deaths, the economy will suffer.
You’re looking to trade in one bad outcome for both bad outcomes.
