They need people to risk their life for economy, not entertainment.

You are onto something there. There is no time for entertainment. Back to work!

So is this a further lockdown then, no restaurant dining rooms open, all non essential business, and retail closed, and also non essential healthcare services.

And also gatherings restricted to 15. I guess we can still go out.

They are also restricting all vehicle access to provincial parks

Holy, would not want to be a landlord right now!

No evictions in April for missed or late rent payments.
    No rent increases (makes sense).
No late fees for late rent payments for next 3 months.

I reduced my tenants rent just so they'd still want to pay. I don't think he is the type of person to not pay though. But I thought that at least the offer of it being lower would help

also i think they said landlords must offer payment plans.

I already spoke to my tenants earlier this week and unfortunately they were both laid off, but thankfully they said they can still make april rent. But if this goes on into May/June they might have difficulty...really hoping it doesn't come to that.

No, its not 100% non-essential closed off. Places like Home Depot will be open.

So according to this FAQ, US citizens abroad also get this stimulus payment:
    https://www.nytimes.com/article/coro...s-answers.html

I'm not sure how the calculation works since i file "married filing separately" (wife is not dual) but there is a chance i might get some prorated amount. Guess we'll see if i get a random cheque in the mail at some point lol.

So two EI/CERB incomes ... so minimum of $4k/month... can’t pay rent? Must be some place! Haha... like wtf else is there to spend money on? Even that coke habit might be difficult to maintain with border closings... and gambling just isn’t the same online... plus no sports bets either!

Well, my single dad tenant is still working. But if he is not, $2K doesn't go that far when you have kids.

GTA is where $2K definitely doesn't pay rent for a lot of people. GVR too I assume.

I think this is pretty clear the conflict:

If they're supposed to be hands off, why is she directly forwarding emails from this one company direct to the minister. That sure screams of a conflict to me..

Thank you for your request for an inquiry.

Mr. Shandro’s wife, Andrea Shandro, holds a half interest in Vital Partners Inc. She holds it through Shandro Holdings Inc. Member Shandro is a shareholder in that company. It is my information his being a shareholder was for legal and tax considerations, which is not an uncommon situation.

Vital Partners is a broker of benefit packages. It works on behalf of corporations to find supplemental dental, drug, health spending, etc, plans for employees. It also, in some instances, assists employees in making claims when plans have been obtained.

Member Shandro thoroughly disclosed his interest in Shandro Holdings Inc. and Shandro Holdings Inc’s interest in Vital Partners when he did his initial disclosure to me. I carefully considered the situation given that Member Shandro is Minister of Health. There was no overlap or conflict between Vital Partners and the Ministry of Health in that Vital Partners does not offer any services mandated under the Canada Health Act. In other words, there is no conflict with the health care system.

If the government were to act in defiance of the Canada Health Act and cut services required thereunder, then it is likely there would be a problem. There may be other instances where a problem could occur. We are vigilant in monitoring the activities of Members and their direct associates.

Although not required by the Conflicts of Interest Act, I asked Member Shandro to place his interest in Shandro Holdings in a form of blind trust and instructed him not to participate in the company.

Given the scrutiny done of this matter and the steps taken, I did not believe it was necessary to deprive Andrea Shandro of her livelihood.

As a result I am not going to do an investigation into this matter as there is no need to do so.

    Sincerely,

    Hon. Marguerite Trussler, Q.C.

    Ethics Commissioner

Assuming it natively came from China, and not from some other place - that set it off in China. I mean you can blame the fire and the firefighters, or you can blame the guy dropping napalm. Never know for sure, but the USA does spend much more on weaponizing everything than everyone else, they also tend to drop bombs, they also never blame the guy dropping the napalm.

"Contagion" (2011) is a probable scenario - engineered (probably the only place it could be done is a level 5 biohaz, which means - Winnipeg) and then somehow got loose. I'm not dark enough to think it was used intentionally.

Disease might also be naturally occurring. Plenty of bacteria have been trapped in glacial ice for hundreds of thousands of years, plenty have probably been lurking in unexplored jungles and forests, and yes - bat caves. That we here in Canada to not have a diverse animal landscape doesn't mean there isn't in other places. Australia arguably is the most likely breeding ground for exotic diseases, they definitely have the most animals with crazy toxins and poisons.
