There is a fundamental difference though - CCP is claiming it was a nefarious act by the USA where they intentionally created it and unleashed it in Wuhan, whereas US gov't says it came from China but not on purpose. Big difference.

Personally i don't think either side purposely unleashed it...but US has a more to lose than China if it got out of hand (like it did) so makes it even less likely man-made by the US.

I don't think it is a question of real or not... The question is what narrative to believe. If you don't think that the narrative can be manipulated to suit a purpose then you are far too trusting.
