I think foreigner only owns 30ish percent, similar to most European countries. With US, it's 52% foreign owned and Japan with debt only 2nd to US, only 10% foreign owned.

Heck even China is now into the game now.

There is nothing stopping Canadians from buying Canadian debt.

This isn't the vote of confidence about fundamentals that you might think it is. These people just know that the CDN gov't has put a high floor under the price of the bonds for now. So at least temporarily, they can be relatively sure that their money is safe.

Those that keep crying to lift all restrictions ... what exactly do you want?

Really the only things are the 14 day quarantine upon returning to the country
Nailed it. I'd like to live my life personally.

Yup. Malls are scary dead right now. It's pretty brutal.
And people don't really grasp how bad it is. The report I read is saying that 60% of small business is going to go bankrupt over this. That is an insane number.

I love amazon, but I like to have my shopping done by mid-november. Removes one more thang to stress me out in December. But then again, I hate december. I'm a grumpy fucker all the way until about January 10th.

You might be sorely disappointed by the selection you can get with guaranteed delivery this year.

kind of curious how tomorrow will play out at schools...

My kiddo is coughing/sneezing from the smoke, all 3 in the house are. Curious if they'll follow protocols and send everyone home who coughs/sneezes - and insist on covid test/symptom free for 10 days. Or if they'll understand theres a forest fire smoke advisory.

tried to get ahead of it with an email to teacher today - hoping he wont be sent home...

    In Kelowna, Covid doesn’t exist.
Zero social distancing, even in restaurants.

    It’s fascinating

Well my daughter broke out in hives on the weekend and now she has a fever. Talked to 811 on saturday night (no possible way it can be covid), read cbe guidance today - even allergic reaction needs negative covid test. Most recent appt is tuesday, looks like kids arent going to school this week...

She's "symptomatic" so you should qualify to have an immediate test that will likely also have quicker results.

    The guidelines are here: https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/20d4...-2020-0903.pdf

If one child has symptoms, book a test. The other children don't have to quarantine if they don't have symptoms. Only if the test comes back positive do you have to quarantine the family.

Being a fever, she needs to quarantine for 10 days regardless of test results.

I think you might be wrong about that last point as per the documentation you linked:

Have symptoms but tested negative for
    COVID-19

 If you tested negative and have known
exposure to COVID-19, you are legally
required to quarantine for 14 days from the
    last date of your exposure.

If you tested negative and have no known
exposure to the virus, you are not legally
required to isolate. However, it is important
to stay home until your symptoms resolve so
that you do not infect others.
So how I read that information is if you tested negative and you dont present symptoms anymore then you dont have to stay home for ten days.

But what I am more interested is if you test negative can the rest of the family go out even if you still have symptoms? Ie one daughter test negative, still has hives, stays home - can my other daughter go to school or not.

And this is the part we are relating too:
    If a student has symptoms
related to allergies or a preexisting medical condition
 The student should be tested at least once
before returning to school and have a
    negative COVID-19 test result.
