It will be faster then this, most of the death happens in long term care housing, and they for the most part are already vaccinated. As well as the health care workers that work there.

The other with new vaccines coming on line we will get to more people sooner...
Most of the people dying in old folks homes aren't being hospitalized, I don't think. ES was asking about hospitalizations and case counts. I didn't directly answer his question, but I think he was asking about how long the vaccination rates in genpop will take to be seen.

My point was that I think case counts in particular will be a lagging indicator of the vaccine campaign, just because of the age group rollout.

All our indicators are lagging to some extent. Just some are much larger lags, like hospitalizations and deaths.

For sure, but even after one shot you get a high level of protection and it will start making an impact right away.

Or Church Service on Sunday and then you're able to attend another service the following Sunday before you show signs of covid.

The reclassification of Deaths to Covid19
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...s-victims.html
    ---

It should also be stressed again PCR tests don't test for Covid19 and especially when cycle thresholds of 35 and above are used. All you get are false positives. Are any labs telling patients and doctors what CT they are testing at? I know Florida has mandated this. So what are actual real deaths due to Covid and real cases of Covid19, and if you have Covid19, does that really mean anything? Maybe you experience mild symptoms, maybe you don't feel anything at all. Certainly all this shutdown, restrictions and mask mandates, and impact to people's mental health and medical services are not worth it for a pandemic that is not a pandemic with an over 99% survivability rate.

I will be pretty surprised if we don't get an announcement that we'll be proceeding to Step 2 today.

I’m with you on this. Hard to say whether they should or not. But it would not be worth the political points to meet the governments requirements with flying colours then ditch the reopening plan after 3 weeks.

Given Good Life already prepared to open, I assume that we are going to step 2 today, if not by next Monday like Hinshaw hinted.

At this point, I don't think it matters. Hospitals are doing good, we can always take 2 steps back if infections goes up again.

Step 2 isn't a really big change anyways, it is just because we need to get to Step 2 before we can get to Step 3.
Step 3 is the bigger change. I can finally see friends and family indoors maybe!

As a gym owner about to hopefully open - No, we can not easily go back.

There is a significant amount of work involved with pausing/ resuming memberships, scheduling, etc etc.

Its cheaper for us to just stay closed for an additional three weeks if needed.

I knoiw GYMVMT is on the fence, and haven't prepped to reopen. I would be surprised if we get moved to Step 2, since the cases are going up again.

Interesting read by Yuval Harari. Author of Sapiens.
    https://www.ft.com/content/f1b30f2c-...yABDV6SGSf5hcI

Coles notes: Gov't has botched this Pandemic and we have more than enough tech and knowledge on Covid-19 to solve it compared to previous plagues or pandemics but we didn't.

"The unprecedented scientific and technological successes of 2020 didn’t solve the Covid-19 crisis. They turned the epidemic from a natural calamity into a political dilemma."

They really dislike the gyms/exercise for some reasons, even though it makes zero sense to close. The most vulnerable (older than 65) groups - that make up the hospitalization metric, are not spending any significant time in a gym and exercise has a proven benefit to the immune systems to everyone else. The gyms were already mandating masks before the shutdown BS.

I would be surprised if they opened up.

All decision makers picture when they think of gyms is a place mimicking a hot sauna and everyone is french kissing each other in it.

Or fatties whose wives are threatening divorce unless they lose a some pounds so this is their way of getting by it.

He lost a shitload of weight somehow though. He used to look just like Randy on TPB.
