Well if the number are true, looks like only 400K people can be vaccinated in Q1 in AB. That barely covers 65+ population not counting AHS staff.

Approval in days or weeks, with vaccination starting around christmas for the first group of Top priority people - maybe earlier. That phase should go through Jan/Feb or so to get that first chunk of doses out to healthcare workers, etc. By then we might see approval for J+J and AZ vaccines, which would double our supply.

Sounds pretty fucken different than any vaccine I have had. Ill be aiming to get one of the mrna vaccines if possible when they become available. As far as I understand these are also new forms of vaccines that have only been used in livestock thus far and not humans other than trials.

Sorta, mRNA tech has been in the works for a while. Previously it was designed to target specific cancer cells. Phase one of Moderna's mRNA-4157 started in 2017 though I guess that is still considered 'trials'. Never the less it's first human use was over 3 years ago.

I don't know if that is ironic, but I do find it hilariously perverse in a sense. Very government "We are doing this for your own good!" as they jab needles into people who can't refuse/fight back if they don't want it.
