Sask back to full shut down until April 5.

Locking it down for Easter, no indoor gatherings allowed.

Brutal... We were supposed to head there to visit the wife's family... Haven't been home for over a year.

How do you figure Sask is going into full shutdown bud?!?! Further temp restrictions in the Regina area does not = full shutdown of any kind

BS won't stop but it won't be tolerated when everyone wants to be vaccinated is vaccinated.

No, that's a Liberal lie because they want this to go on. Not because nobody gives a shit and intentionally spreading it.
This has nothing to do with 'liberals', the stupidity transcends political boundaries - the BS will continue well after vaccinations because Covid variant X will cause new issues to be fearful about.

Guess Tam has moved onto the next crisis after her 10-20k cases per day scenario never materialized.

Really hard not take the view that they’re just moving from one potential crisis to the next to keep people scared when there is something brand new right when their last prediction fizzled.

Looks like I jumped the gun slightly, wife's family chat said "all of Sask", it's Regina and area. Which for the wifes family is pretty much all of Sask. Lol

Exchange between Rand Paul and Master Fauci on Covid19 Response
    https://www.c-span.org/video/?509827...demic-response

“There have been no reports of significant numbers of reinfections after acquiring COVID-19 naturally,” Sen. Paul said.

Paul went on to cite numerous studies that had significant evidence of long-term immunity after COVID infection.

“So rather than being pessimistic towards people gaining immunity after they’ve had COVID, or had a vaccine, studies argue for significant optimism,” Paul told Dr. Fauci. “In fact, there have been no scientific studies arguing, or proving, that infection with COVID does not create immunity.”

“Given that no scientific studies have shown significant numbers of reinfections of patients previously infected, or previously vaccinated, what specific studies do you cite to argue that the public should be wearing masks well into 2022?” Paul asked Fauci. “If we’re not spreading the infection, isn’t it just theater? You have the vaccine and you’re wearing two masks, isn’t that theater?”

“Here we go again with the theater,” Fauci replied growing frustrated.

Fauci argued that the variants of the disease which are now circulating require every American to wear masks.

“What proof is there that there is significant reinfections with hospitalizations and deaths from the variants? None in our country. Zero,” Paul replied. “You’re making a policy based on conjecture.”

“You’ve been vaccinated and you parade around in a mask for show. You can’t get it again!” Paul exclaimed. “You’re defying everything we know about immunity by telling people to wear masks who have been vaccinated.”

I understand its tough. I haven't been home to the Island in 1.5 years to visit my family. I had a kid in September and none of them have been able to see him either. But I'm not gonna cry and whine about it because I want this done and over with so I'm doing what I can to make sure that's the case. And you're worried about an easter visit

But you are going to mockingly whine and cry about other people's feelings of loss since in your estimation they're not as great as yours? Perhaps it's time to take stress leave, wouldn't want that lack of compassion/consideration for others to trickle down to your work.

Oh, so since you in a similar situation it means that others can't vent about their frustrations? "Look at me, my problems are worse and i'm not complaining". Don't be a douche.

It sucks for everyone in varying ways, and sometimes expressing ones frustration helps cope with the immense strain covid has placed upon us all.

So just because you are ok putting up with restrictions, for reasons you have freely admitted as being selfish in nature, everyone else on the planet should just shut up about it? Everyone else’s stakes are irrelevant?

You sure seem to hold yourself in pretty high regard lol

Seems like I’m not the only one who sees through your bullshit on this one

    Done and over with?
You do realize Covid is a constantly mutating virus correct?
This will NEVER be over and done with until we can collectively accept that and move forward.

So yeah, I would like to go visit family over Easter for the first time in over a year. (Also, we had a child in November of 2019, half of my wife's family has yet to meet him, I feel ya there homie. *chest bump- gang signs*)

Edit: I understand your line of work is very stressful, and thank you for doing it, I know I sure as hell couldn't, but come on man...

Not sure what you mean here. The antigenic drift on the virus is relatively slow. Worst case we have to get an annual booster. More realistic case is a booster very 3-4 years. Making boosters is going to be easy as all we have to do is crtl-c ctrl-v the genetic sequence into mRNA vaccine, and done.

Yes but a booster will always be needed if you choose to get it.

    Covid isn't going away.
Lockdowns are stupid, and the governemnt dictating when and if people can see their family is stupid.

If you want to go out and see people, you risk contracting Covid.
If you're afraid of it, stay home.

Living in a constant state of fear isn't the answer.
It's a very simple concept to me.

People are idiots and inherently self interested.

I recommend avoiding them if at all possible.
